My ancestors did not need to be saved from someone by the Marathas. The Rajput chiefs of Awadh were quite capable to save themselves and the people. Safdarjung calls the Chiefs more dangerous than the Marathas.

@cbkwgl @j43606K Maratha interest does not equal Hindu interests. Kingdom of Kumaon(Pahadi Rajputs of Uttarakhand) fought against Marathas. Naga Bairagis fought against Marathas. Even Surajmal of Bharatpur did not support them in Panipat. Marathas plundered Bengal for Hindu interests?
