@NewIndianXpress Boshidike, “E20 vehicles were tested for E20” does not prove that older E10-era vehicles were built, certified, calibrated or protected for E20 and all E20 Calibrated vehicles are compatible with E25 to E85 Fuel. Why should people use noncompliant fuel in legacy vehicles???
Selective Outrage Is Not Opposition. It Is Political Convenience.
Rahul Gandhi has spoken forcefully on unemployment, inflation, the NEET controversy, caste census, and electoral issues. Those are important battles, and rightly so. But one question remains unanswered: why the silence on ethanol blending?
Millions of Indians own older vehicles. Consumers have raised concerns about lower mileage, higher maintenance costs, compatibility with older engines, and environmental sustainability. The rollout has sparked public debate and legal scrutiny, yet the principal face of the Opposition has not made it a major national issue.
A credible Opposition does not choose only the battles that generate headlines. It must scrutinize every policy that affects ordinary citizens, regardless of whether it is politically fashionable. Democracy needs consistency, not selective activism.
Questioning the ethanol policy does not mean opposing farmers or energy security. It means demanding transparency, scientific evidence, consumer protection, and accountability from those in power.
The government must answer for its policies. But the Opposition must also answer for its silence. If millions of vehicle owners are asking questions while the principal Opposition remains largely absent from the debate, citizens have every right to ask: Who is speaking for us?
