@sidewalks_lfk I appealed this piece of my sidewalk needing to be repaired arguing that the retaining wall keeps anyone from walking on that corner of that panel. The city denied my appeal because mobility devices would still have issues, to which I reiterated my initial appeal
@sidewalks_lfk Here is my biggest gripe, you are still going to help pay for 1/2 of it, but your neighbor across the street who doesn’t have a sidewalk In their yard, also get to pay their 1/2!
Petition Comment 90 (cont): "As the property owner, we realize little benefit from having this sidewalk. ... If this sidewalk was something I constructed for just our family use, then I could understand why I should pay to maintain or replace it." #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 90: "As a Lawrence property owner with a sidewalk across our property that all our neighbor's use every day, it is important that the city pay for the maintenance and replacement of sidewalks in our city." #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 87: "[by maintaining sidewalks it...] Gives city more power to control safety, creates jobs, and its easier for cost savings" #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 85: "Coordinated, city funded maintenance of sidewalks can take Lawrence a long way towards becoming a more walkable city. Everyone in Lawrence deserves a safe sidewalk!" #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 80: "Sidewalks in my neighborhood are narrow, cracked, and uneven. They are a hazard to children on bicycles and people with mobility issues trying to walk." #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 75 (cont): "Either cover sidewalk repairs from our high tax rates or make both sides of the street pay for the repair!" #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 75: "Adding expenses to sidewalk ‘owners’ and not others is not fair. Having to take care of a sidewalk in addition to caring for a property on a limited income is becoming unmanageable." #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 74: "My neighbor next to me doesn’t have a sidewalk. How is that fair? It’s not. My neighbor across the street has a sidewalk only halfway across their property. How is that fair? It’s not." #LawrenceCityComm
Petition Comment 68: "Some of the sidewalks on my property were busted when the contractor was building the house in a 1993. Why didn't the city make the contractor repair the damage then?" #LawrenceCityComm
