🇦🇷🇪🇬 Everyone wanted to scream that Argentina vs Egypt was rigged.
Then the replay made it annoying.
Egypt’s first controversy came when the refs missed a foul, Egypt went coast to coast, scored, and appeared to go up 2-0.
But VAR stepped in, reviewed the buildup, and ruled no goal.
As much as people wanted to lose their minds, the foul was there.
And under VAR, if an offense leads into the buildup of a goal, exactly what happened on that play, they can review it and take the goal away.
Then came the extra detail nobody wants to hear:
The Egyptian player also appeared to remove his shirt, which is supposed to be a yellow card.
Fast-forward to the 97th minute.
Salah goes down for Egypt, Argentina go coast to coast, score, and take the lead.
But when the play is slowed down, the defender touches the ball first.
It becomes a loose ball, then the player gets tripped up.
So yes, everyone wanted the “rigged” version.
The problem is the refs may have actually gotten both calls right.

Is overspending on players the biggest reason we crumbled as a club? I love Terry, but this is the propaganda the Glazers want you to believe. 🤔
⚽️These numbers are adjusted for inflation and speaks a clear language.
🔺The 12/13 season — City had spent 2.512bn over the previous 10 year period and United 1.859bn. That’s on average 70m more on transfers every summer for 10 years. The gap between United and Chelsea is insane, Chelsea had averaged 379m per season ten straight seasons.
🔺The 13/14 season — The gap between City and Utd has widen, City had on average spent 104m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
🔺The 14/15 season — City had on average spent 107m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
🔺The 15/16 season — City had on average spent 112m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
🔺The 16/17 season — City had on average spent 154m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
🔺The 17/18 season — City had on average spent 148m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
🔺The 18/19 season — City had on average spent 112m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
🔺The 19/20 season — City had on average spent 110m more per season than United over the 10 preceding seasons.
And so forth. See the graph below to the left. United has at no point been in the top 2 in the PL in cumulative transfer spend over a ten year period.
⚽️But United paid insane wages!! No, this is not correct either. United has never paid high wages. Never. Capology has reported some braindead numbers, but they aren’t in touch with reality and never have been.
See the graph to the right straight from the club’s Annual Reports adjusted for split between player wages and non-player staff wages. United’s player wage bill has NOT been higher than 4th in the PL since 2016. This is an indisputable fact.
👉So United has never wasted money? Not even under Woodward? Yes, they have been wasteful. But — if we look at spending on transfers and wages — United should have finished on average 3.5 in the PL. We have over performed 4 times and underperformed 8 times since Fergie left.
But lack of investments in the squad is by far the club’s biggest problem. You can’t move on from a manager like Fergie and undergo an extreme generation change spending 150m less per season on transfers than your rivals while having a wage bill that is not competitive. It speaks for itself.
Having watched the majority of Man Utd's matches under his reign, I can say that it will work only if he gets a dynamic midfield, attacking wingbacks, and a decent striker. There needs to be a lot of investment. Hope it works!
🚨🔴⚫️ BREAKING: Rúben Amorim to AC Milan as new head coach, HERE WE GO! 🇵🇹
Verbal agreement done on deal valid until June 2028 plus option until June 2029.
Amorim has accepted all conditions and will sign this week as new Milan manager. 🫱🏻🫲🏼
🗣️ “If you were aware that Neymar's injury was grade 2, would you have called him up for the World Cup?”.
😁 Carlo Ancelotti: “If my grandfather had wheels, he would be a car!”.
@keralista That’s my point. I don’t think our ownership/board will grant him the time he needs,..especially since he demands significant decision-making power. Implementing his vision takes time, and he requires total control to execute it. That won't sit well with our board.
He wasn’t a success everywhere he went, and his time at United was undeniably tough. But let’s be real: he’s walking into the same minefield...an incompetent board and ownership. He is also brutally honest and openly highlights the flaws that need to be improved. 1/2
Rangnick achieves excellence wherever he goes. His managerial career is a testament to that. What I like about him is how well he has set up the Red Bull clubs and that too all from scratch.
Not only did he elevate the quality of the playing XI and the scouting but he made a system that improved their youth teams, their medical department and also modern approaches to training.
And when he left in 2021, he made sure to hand over the keys to people who can continue it even in his absence which now is done by Jurgen Klopp.
Something of that magnitude is unheard of in Italy. And we had the chance to do something right, something different since the whole Milan Lab thing in the 2010 which was so ahead of its time.
Now all thanks to the ego of one man @Ibra_official we are making a big mistake not considering him and just doing what all other Italian clubs normally do
@keralista My fear is that he fits Cardinale’s "develop & sell" profit model. I remember he said something during his time at Man Utd about a rule against signing players over 27-28, so im expect him to clear out the veterans, buy youth, and secure CL spots but not win trophies.
🚨🔴⚫️ AC Milan have sacked all key figures at the club after missing UCL qualification.
❌ Massimiliano Allegri
❌ CEO Giorgio Furlani
❌ Director Igli Tare
❌ Head of Scouting Geoffrey Moncada
Milan deserve all the hate, the jokes and criticism. What Gerry Cardinale, Red Bird and every other person have done to this club is some of the most disgraceful handling of a giant. They're a dead club again after being brought back to life for a short period
