But since speedrunning is exclusively online and chess has the OTB factor where it's basically impossible to cheat, I think it mostly balances out and the retards get caught. The translation to OTB from cheating online I think is what Magnus did not expect when he suspected Hans.

Almost like cheating CAN make u a better player in many ways. Ppl complain cuz its an intrinsically dishonorable act, but if ur not a retard abt it for stuff like tactical sense and understanding new structures it can be rly useful.

Many top speedrunners would be rly rly good even without cheats but do it for a perceived sense of 'fairness' (i.e. they'll give themselves increased odds instead of just godmode since you cannot get too good too fast or too lucky). Similarly u cannot just stomp title tuesday.
