@pritipatel in hot water caught lying & smearing British Sikhs in her speech on 19 Nov 21 in Washington DC. Her statement not backed by @ukhomeoffice report published 3 March 22 or @MattJukesMPS data released this week on 800 live investigations where none relate to Sikhs.
As the first female Sikh MSP I am humbled to have been able to read the Mool Mantar, a Sikh prayer before taking the oath as a Member of Scottish Parliament.
I am excited to begin my journey as an MSP for @ScotTories make my community proud.
My thoughts are with the farmers currently fighting for their livelihood in India.
More than 50% of India’s population work on farms. Any major agricultural reforms need to be employed with great care.
I hope the issue will be resolved soon and those affected will be supported.
Shocked to see mobs and police trying to intimidate and clear Delhi #FarmersProtest, after stopping their water, electricity and internet.
Violence can’t be condoned, but if people in power abuse peaceful protesters, it’ll merely make their movement stronger.

A very productive evening speaking to the local residents of North Edgbaston.
A special thank you to a young couple that invited me into their home for a Cuppa and chat. They told me the increase in burglaries is a huge worry along with the lack of street lighting.
Thanks to all that saw my interview on KTV this morning. It was a nerve racking experience as i have never done anything like that before. I'm so glad i done it though. Received really good constructive feedback.
A big thank to all the KTV team and presenter @UpinderRandhawa
MP Preet Gill from Edgbaston acknowledges her party's underrepresentation of Sikh women.
I am so proud to be a Sikh woman, who has been given the opportunity to run for the local council elections for North Edgbaston.
