Today, on the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, we celebrate the courage, expertise, and vision women bring to rooms where decisions about our shared future are made.

Women diplomats have always done this work — sometimes visibly, often behind the scenes. They have brokered peace, protected citizens abroad, defended human rights, and built trust between nations. Diplomacy becomes more patient, more empathetic, and more durable when women lead it.

In Trade and Diplomacy, how a single conversation can change a company’s trajectory: a woman-led SME in Pakistan finding a buyer in Europe, a female trade negotiator unlocking a new tariff line. These wins matter because trade is how we create jobs, reduce poverty, and drive innovation.

So today, let us commit: to mentor the next generation of women negotiators, to champion women-led businesses in global value chains, and to build a diplomatic service where every voice helps shape the deals that move our world forward.

The Trade & Investment Attaché @sidra_munaf ,Embassy of Pakistan, Brussels, addressed the European Committee of the Regions, hosted by @EU_CoR and @FinnovaEU, on Pakistan’s institutional framework for circular economic transition and EU-Pakistan cooperation.

During her address, Ms @sidra_munaf:
• Shared the fundamental parameters of Pakistan’s policy architecture including GSP+ trade preferences, National Recycling and EPR Policy, SEZ Act with fiscal incentives, Climate Change and Renewable Energy Policies, and Water Stewardship Regulations.
• Added that Pakistan's circular economy framework is supported through EU cooperation programmes and has garnered the confidence of international brands sourcing certified circular products from Pakistan for the European market.
• ⁠Reiterated that the cooperation can be enhanced further through standards harmonization, development of eco-industrial zones, mobilization of green finance, and establishment of dedicated circular trade linkages.

Building on the shared vision to launch collaborative initiatives as agreed last year in a meeting between H.E. Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi @rahimhayat and General Delegate of COLEAD, Mr. Jeremy Knops, the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels, along with COLEAD, organized a webinar titled “EU Agri-Food Safety Regulations: Key Updates & Compliance Strategies for Pakistani Exporters.” The session was held under INTPA's @EU_Partnerships "Agrinfo Initiative" to disseminate information on EU's regulations and policies.
Renowned experts from COLEAD, together with Trade and Investment Attache of the Embassy, provided participants with important information on current EU agri-food safety regulations, highlighting essential updates and offering strategies to ensure compliance for Pakistani exporters. Garnering a highly positive response, the session attracted over 100 participants. This strong turnout reflects the keen interest and commitment within Pakistan’s agri-export community to enhance their presence and competitiveness in the EU market.
The Embassy is proud to bring this important initiative directly to Pakistani exporters, industry stakeholders, and government representatives. By improving awareness and capacity, the AGRINFO Programme supports Pakistani stakeholders in meeting international standards and accessing new opportunities. The Embassy will continue to support the initiative and will subsequently hold follow-up sessions.

Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels marked Pakistan Day with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony today. Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi @rahimhayat hoisted the national flag, paying tribute to our founding fathers and the sacrifices of our martyrs.
In his remarks, the Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan's enduring commitment to regional peace and stability, the fight against terrorism, and steadfast support for the people of IIOJK. He also highlighted the vital Pakistan-EU partnership and the constructive role of Pakistani diaspora across Europe.
The ceremony brought together members of the Pakistani community, including business leaders, journalists, students and other representatives. Prayers were offered for the continued progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
