یہ سن کر بادشاہ غصے میں آ گیا اور حکم دیا کہ نان بائی کو فوراً دربار میں پیش کیا جائے۔ جب وہ آیا تو بادشاہ نے سب کے سامنے اسے ڈانٹا اور حکم دیا کہ فوراً روٹی کی قیمت آدھی کر دی جائے، یعنی 15 روپے۔

یہ سن کر لوگ خوشی سے نعرے لگانے لگے:
“بادشاہ زندہ باد! بادشاہ زندہ باد!”

حالانکہ حقیقت یہ تھی کہ روٹی جو پہلے 8 روپے کی تھی، اب 15 روپے کی ہو چکی تھی، مگر لوگ اس بات کو سمجھ نہ سکے۔

اسی طرح آج پاکستان میں بھی کچھ ایسا ہی ہو رہا ہے۔ پٹرول کی قیمت 322 روپے سے بڑھا کر 458 روپے کر دی جاتی ہے، پھر اسے کم کر کے 378 روپے کر دیا جاتا ہے، جو کہ پھر بھی پہلے سے زیادہ ہے—لیکن لوگ خوشی میں “زندہ باد” کے نعرے لگاتے ہیں۔

ایک بادشاہت میں ایک نان بائی (روٹی بنانے والا) تھا جو 8 روپے میں روٹی بیچتا تھا۔ ایک دن اس نے اچانک روٹی کی قیمت بڑھا کر 12 روپے کر دی۔ اس پر بادشاہت کے لوگ سڑکوں پر نکل آئے اور احتجاج شروع کر دیا۔ لوگ بادشاہ کے پاس گئے اور نان بائی کی شکایت کی۔

بادشاہ نے لوگوں کو تسلی دی اور حکم دیا کہ اگلے دن نان بائی کو دربار میں پیش کیا جائے۔ جب نان بائی دربار میں حاضر ہوا تو بادشاہ نے حیران کن طور پر اسے حکم دیا کہ روٹی کی قیمت بڑھا کر 30 روپے کر دی جائے۔

اگلے دن نان بائی نے ایسا ہی کیا۔ لوگ دوبارہ غصے میں سڑکوں پر نکل آئے اور بادشاہ کے پاس شکایت لے کر گئے کہ قیمت کم کرنے کے بجائے مزید بڑھا دی گئی ہے۔See more..
