A girl said her boyfriend paid for dinner and his friends called him “simp” for it.
Mind you… that was HIS girlfriend 😭
Some men act like providing even a little bit of comfort, care, or stability for the woman they love is oppression.
Like sir nobody asked you to buy a yacht. We’re literally talking about pasta and emotional reassurance.
I started my period unexpectedly at work and bled through onto an office chair. I was mortified because my manager was a man. I told him, bracing for humiliation. You know what he did? He didn’t make me clean the stain while panicking. He quietly got cleaning supplies, took care of the chair, handed me his jacket to tie around my waist, made sure I had pads, and helped me find a change of clothes.
No jokes. No disgust. No scene. He just made sure I was okay.
Are you in yesterday, upset over the disappointment, bitter over who hurt you, thinking about what they said? You’re missing the beauty of this moment. Once we live this day, we can’t get it back. Don’t take for granted all the good things in your life right now.
One night I asked my mom how she knew my dad was “the one.” She didn’t say butterflies. She didn’t say grand gestures.
She said, “There was a year I wasn’t okay.”
She told me after I was born, she felt overwhelmed all the time. She stopped talking as much. Stopped laughing as loudly. She said she felt guilty for not being her usual self.
And my dad didn’t demand the “old her” back.
He just started doing small things.
He would wake up earlier to pack her lunch.
He’d fold the laundry without announcing it.
He’d sit beside her on the couch and just hold her hand without asking a single question.
She said one night she finally cried and told him she felt like she was failing at everything.
He didn’t interrupt.
Didn’t give a motivational speech.
Didn’t say “but you have so much to be grateful for.”
He just listened.
And the next week?
He didn’t treat her like she was fragile.
Didn’t bring it up during arguments.
Didn’t use it as proof that she was “too emotional.”
He loved her the same. Calm. Steady. Normal.
My mom looked at me and said,
“That’s when I knew. Love isn’t the loud days. It’s who stays gentle on the quiet ones.”
And suddenly their 20+ years together made sense.
Real love doesn’t panic when you’re not at your best.
It adjusts.
It waits.
It stays.
My husband has been lying to me for years.
Ever since we started dating, whenever we order pancakes and they come with strawberries on top, he always pushes the strawberries onto my plate. I never questioned it. I just assumed he didn’t like them.
On one of our first brunch dates, I remember picking all the strawberries off my stack first. He noticed. After that, every single time, his strawberries somehow ended up with mine.
It became routine. He’d slide them over. I’d eat them. I genuinely believed he hated strawberries.
The other weekend, we went out for breakfast again. Feeling playful, I lifted one off my plate and said, “Do you want one?”
Without thinking, he said, “Yeah,” and ate it like it was the most normal thing in the world.
I stared at him. “Wait… you like strawberries?”
He laughed. “Of course I do.”
“So why have you been giving me yours for years?”
He shrugged and said, “Because i know you love them. And I love watching you enjoy them.”
And just like that my heart just melted, because for years I whole-heartedly believed this man hated strawberries.
But no.
He loves them.
He just loves me more.
Propaganda I'm falling for:
- Men are providers
- a man who cheats on you doesn't love you
- Men set the tone in a relationship, if you're making your woman stressed then she's gonna give the same energy, you can expect peace while giving her pain
- Men aren't superior than woman
- Your career is far more important than any man in your life
- I believe every man is just any guy, so don't stress yourself over a man, let him go
-Women are the prize in a relationship
- A man who is emotionally unavailable when your cry yourself to sleep, simply doesn't love you.
Get yourself a real man and watch the difference:
“I got it, babe.”
“Let’s go, I planned something.”
“Here, just because.”
Not that “Sorry, I forgot, can’t make it” nonsense.
One brings peace, the other drama.
Everybody wants long relationships until reality hits... the silent days, the miscommunication, the arguments that drain y'all, the assumptions, the misunderstandings, the "that's not what I meant" moments. Love ain't just cute pictures and anniversaries. It's work. It's patience. It's choosing each other even when it's hard
date sweet men. men who are calm. men who can articulate themselves. men who are soft spoken. men who are patient with you. men who respect both you and themselves . men who are kind to you. men that are gentle. men who have self control.
