@BooselyBied Yeah well that’s what I would say during those two weeks. Gerson didn’t tie into friend either, the shadow crystal bosses might have another reason, Mew Mew’s coolness as a boss is in her parallels to Kris as a character not any relationship to lore ARG stuff.

@BooselyBied Two weeks of that go by, and now this update comes out that seems to address those perfectly when I was of the opinion it wasn’t needed in the first place. It feels like a response, so if it was intentional to delay it, I think it was a bad call

@BooselyBied It’s not my main criticism to be completely clear. I love Chapter 5 deeply it’s my favorite or second favorite. When it came out people criticized Mew Mew’s lack of cohesion with the other Friend-related secret bosses, and lack of lore drops in general

@BooselyBied @mimigacity So the argument is that data mining image friends appearance on launch is fine, but the dialogue would have overshadowed the launch to such a degree that it’s worth instead adding it in a random update 2 weeks later that just so happens to address the main criticism of chapter 5

@BooselyBied @mimigacity We don’t know that this isn’t something he is doing in response to criticism of Chapter 5 or is the part of the plan. Doing it this way feels sloppy and very post-hoc, which is why I ask for evidence it was always planned. And people just say “well duh it stops data miners”

@BooselyBied @mimigacity No, what? That’s not relevant at all — explain to me why Toby cares if data miners find something on launch? Most people are finding things out over Twitter anyways, if it’s part of his master plan why not let the few people who would find it naturally find it naturally?

@waweezer I’m pro difficulty modes, all memes aside it would be cool if Undertale and Deltarune had them. Even if I don’t mind if the game is breezy on a first pass — I wanna get through it relatively quickly when new chapters come out
