@Jandal_It@cha0s10g1c Why draw the line at list MPs? You didn't get a say in who any of the candidates were for the parties. The system will not be truly democratic unless you are able to vote in primaries for the candidate selection of every party.
@luigi_depressed@souljagoyteller Dick Durbin should not be able to go a day without his role as whip being questioned by journalists. Literally the dude whose job is to enforce party discipline broke ranks.
@BasicBishopNZ This doesn't seem to work because like 80% of TOP's policies are already identical to the Greens which suggests the left wing policy is not the unique selling point people are voting for.
@JrrNot@nikicaga Sam Yorty who oversaw the Watts riots, publicly feuded with Robert F Kennedy, and was ranked by historians in 1985 as the third worst American big city mayor since 1820. He won three terms.
@Idontknowwho766@Tiare_MP The media don't really pay attention to the Greens policies until they're actually implementing them, because they're easy to write off as doomed to be watered down by Labour. So even though they've released more policy than any other opposition party no one notices.
@hqtred@Tiare_MP They'd need National at 2010s numbers for that to work. They will get citizens assemblies and AI regulation through and that's about it, most of their policies are dead on arrival to Winston Peters and David Seymour.
@Idontknowwho766@Tiare_MP Based on the policies listed on their website, I can only see them feasibly getting more citizens assemblies, gene tech and AI regulation, and some of their education policies through a national led government. Winston Peters would stop most of their policies dead in their tracks
@Idontknowwho766@Tiare_MP They'd obviously perform much better in a labour led government. Their oceans and energy policies are essentially the same as the Greens' policies once they get moderated by Labour. Their UBI is not super far from the Greens guaranteed minimum income, and Greens would support LVT
