๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ท๐ท๐บ Iraq's security chief flew to Moscow to tell Iran, face to face: our soil is off-limits.
Al-Araji quoted the Iraqi constitution directly. No ambiguity, no diplomatic softening.
He also proposed a regional security council, which is Baghdad's way of buying itself a seat at the table instead of becoming one.
Iraq has spent 20 years being used as a chessboard by Washington and Tehran. This looks like Baghdad finally trying to hold the board itself.

May he keeps resting. He did well to set you and your family up in preparation for the times he will be away. I am very proud of how you have coped since he departed. Keep your heads and continue progressing in life as he would have wished. I have missed a big brother and a confidante, someone I relied on in moments of big decisions, only the two of us knew how we did our things.
@fredo_tech@moneyacademyKE@daddyowenmusic Itโs more about the cost of importing the crude to the refinery in Lamu or Mombasa. With the pipeline already in place from the Ugandan oil fields in Hoima District to Tanga, part of the problem was solved.
Remember the clamor for a big refinery in the region is to avoid depending on importation of refine petroleum products from the middle east. As of now, the discussion hasnโt involved importing crude from South Sudan, the focus has been Uganda. Even if the two countries agree to supply crude, the current daily crude output will not be enough for the 650,000 bpd capacity being proposed. Nevertheless, I trust those planning this know exactly what they are doing and how to overcome these perceived challenges.
@Miyen_mimdit Stolen wealth always crave for attention, forces you to be loud. Those who can suppress the urge always get away with their crimes unless someone snitch them out.
Visit any trendy coffee shop in Juba and look at the kind of people around, or visit those upscale clubs, restaurants and see the kind of revellers enjoying their time. Is there some sort of inequality creeping in into our society or is it just a matter of lifestyle choices?
A few years ago, Dangote sent his own brother here to seek permission from the government to set up a cement factory. No one gave him audience or the attention required when dealing with an investor of scale like the Dangote Group. That is when they turned to Ethiopia and Tanzania. Unless we overhaul how we deal with investors especially those coming in for big projects that require government guarantees or PPP, we shall continue to be bypassed by big investors with deep pockets.
The only viable investment partner for a potential oil refinery is Ethiopia.
Nile petroleum company has become a moribund vehicle when it comes to upstream investment in the oil and gas sector. We need fresh ideas and newer institutions if we shall gain from a competitive advantage for being the first oil producing country in East Africa.
After Dr. John Garang died in that mysterious helicopter crash after the CPA, many South Sudanese leaders who didnโt go to the bush with other colleagues, those who were actively imbedded with the enemy in Khartoum or working against the SPLA in the comfort of their homes in foreign capital flocked back to Southern Sudan, with their excuses being that what kept them away was that they didnโt agree with Dr. Garangโs leadership, but not the course of the Southerners and the marginalized Sudanese.
They are vey happy that the liberators abandoned the promises they used to tell us about what would happen in our independent country, all the roads, schools, hospitals, the use of oil revenues to spur economic growth through mechanized agriculture. We are in the same boat together, all being unpatriotic, those who sacrificed their lives, ready to die for a course and survived, and those for their known reasons were unable to join the movement, but instead sabotaged course of the liberation struggle.
I am glad you have listened to this interview, kindly listen to the whole interview, itโs full of some nuggets of wisdom in regard to business and thinking big. Yes, there is a reason for the 5 am waking up as popularized by Robin Sharma. As for me I am on the other extreme, the late night guys.
Itโs true that he mobilized SPLM cadres to attend in big numbers, but todayโs isnโt SPLM day, since independence it has been exclusively SPLA Day. Yes there is a thin line between the party and the liberation army but it was wrong for the party to hijack this day which has historically been organized by the Military.
Also, Akol forgot about the history of the movement. He chose to focus on heaping praises on the current chairman, he couldnโt even mention the names of other founders who are not alive including Dr. John Garang for the 30 minutes he spoke. The history of 16 May is not complete without mentioning those who initiated that fight in 1983 in Bor, Pibor and Ayod in Jonglei State. Cde. Dr. Wani righted his wrongs.
