@TheDrainmaker 7 days notice is great. The Mooney in the bank style has been played so much it’s not interesting anymore, at least this gives it a different feeling
@JobberNationTV It says that Lesnar vs Hunt was paying too much to get hurt wrestling in the build so the eager wrestler looking to put on a mania classic was a nuisance to the guy who just wanted to do the bare minimum and get paid for mania and ufc
@BritishTennisUp I wouldn’t put this in the same category as a lot of British players injuries, more comparable to Arthur Fils last year. She’s played a lot and shown that she is able to play a decent schedule, tough to criticise her here I think
The LTA could save a lot of money by clustering tournaments👇🏼
Next week there’s an ITF in Aldershot and then another in Roehampton the next week🎾
Why don’t they run back to back tournaments at the same venue?🤔
Plenty of other countries do it and it would save thousands!💰
Now imagine that a result like this would be used to fuel a narrative to get rid of half of the singles qualifying…
And you’d understand the frustration a lot of doubles players are experiencing at this moment
Lots of debate on doubles at the moment, with many pointing to a lack of promotion by the ATP. So I trawled through YouTube and Instagram to see what the numbers said - here's the results: https://t.co/Uja6u5QpUm
@tennisville1 Highlights are different. We experienced federers greatness. You never get that same sense if you didn’t live it. Also now Roger visits Wimbledon regularly it’ll keep the legend alive more than Pete who I only remember coming back once
Henri Patten, in his victory speech in the men’s doubles, thanks Wimbledon deservedly for giving men’s doubles the platform (a full house) and pointedly gives a reminder that powers that be (being ATP) should be trying to encourage doubles and grow the game
@Bob876257947887@josemorgado The top 20 singles players are in a class of their own but everyone else is easily as valuable as doubles specialists. Finland has Harri, India has paes etc etc. a player like arevalo is way more important than an American ranked 50 who won’t make week 2 of a major
Henry Patten 🇬🇧 uses his Wimbledon victory to show that tennis should grow doubles as well as singles instead of taking opportunities away like the ATP are trying to do.
Brilliant Henry. Excellent speech
