There are still some tears to shed visiting our history. I am unsure which is sadder, discovering a great-grandmother born in a slaves’ cage or a great-grandfather “owner” of enslaved people. Anyhow, the joy is finding ourselves and learning to be better humans along the way. =)

To cut a long story short, my 7yo is now engaged in a “research project” interviewing the eldest of our family by Facetime to see our ancestor's places of origin, migratory history, and languages they spoke. In the end, we will draw a family tree. 5/
