Yea the problem is the Uk...and Do you actually live in the same UK as the rest of us, and specifically in England, because what you’re describing doesn’t look anything like what people here are facing right now? The easily uk has one of the highest cost of living on planet earth...My own costs have exploded even though my lifestyle hasn’t changed: mortgage on a house went from about £1,000–£1,200 a month to around £1,800 purely because interest rates went through the roof. Council tax that used to be around £60 a month is now just over £200. Electricity used to be about £30 a month; now it’s roughly £150 in the summer and closer to £250 in winter, with water bills that have tripled, food noticeably more expensive even when I cook everything at home, and none of that is “lifestyle” spending , it’s just the basic cost of running a household. At this point my core monthly bills are about £3,200, and that’s with no luxury spending, no eating out and no holidays , just mortgage, council tax, utilities, insurance, food and essential travel. I looked at people who are renting instead of owning, a single room in a shared place with shared kitchen and toilet down south is easily around £500 a month, while a one-bed is roughly £850 and a two-bed is around £1,300 or more. So no, this isn’t about people “living beyond their means”; it’s that housing, energy, water, council tax and food have all climbed far faster than most wages, and you simply can’t raise a family in the UK today while trying to live like a student just to keep up with the bills.
@paradeisoshodos @realfoxfan @flaming__swords @needGod_net so even believers still fall short and need grace. Our hope is not a ‘clean’ record, but that the Father now sees us through Jesus’ finished work.
@paradeisoshodos @realfoxfan @flaming__swords @needGod_net Proverbs says the righteous may fall seven times but rise again, while the wicked stay down. Scripture also says all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory
@paradeisoshodos @realfoxfan @flaming__swords @needGod_net The difference between a saved and unsaved person isn’t that one never sins, but that the Spirit in us won’t let us make peace with sin. He convicts us, draws us to repentance, and keeps us running back to God.
@paradeisoshodos @realfoxfan @flaming__swords @needGod_net I agree, True faith produces obedience, but our obedience doesn’t keep us saved. Neither does our disobedience un-save us from God. A child doesn’t stop being a son when he disobeys his father. He grieves him, but he’s still family.
@paradeisoshodos@needGod_net We’re saved by faith in Jesus. Nothing we do earns it. When we believe, God gives us His Spirit to help us love Him and turn from sin. The thief on the cross had no works, yet was saved by simply believing. We obey God because we’re saved, not to be saved
@paradeisoshodos @realfoxfan @flaming__swords @needGod_net If our works could earn salvation, then Jesus’ sacrifice wouldn’t be a gift. We’d boast that our deeds made us worthy. Just like in human relationships, when you truly love and believe someone, you naturally want to do right by them. And that's the same when we are saved by faith

@dieworkwear Honestly, I think about the thief on the cross. He didn’t live a good life and probably didn’t even have real faith in God. But in that final moment, he simply asked Jesus to remember him & Jesus did. It reminds me that even at the very end, a sincere heart can still find grace.
@cometcalls I’m so glad you’re moving toward God. Acknowledging Him is truly the right side, there’s a deep peace, salvation, and overwhelming love that comes with it. In a world full of evil, choosing God means choosing light, hope, and real joy.
Jesus died for us
Was tortured for us
He is a gift to broken humans
He is a teacher for the lost
He suffered so we can be forgiven
Jesus is love
Jesus is LORD
