Dear Chinedu @GRVlagos
I have no interest in descending into the mudslinging and distractions you appear to thrive on. My focus remains on the important work before us - supporting the efforts of the Lagos State Government to ensure the safety, well-being, and prosperity of Lagosians.
If being committed to public service, good governance, and the protection of the interests and heritage of Lagosians is what you choose to describe as bigotry, then I make NO APOLOGIES for standing firmly by those principles. Public service is not a tea party - but how can you know what it entails? Nemo dat quod non habet.
For the sake of clarity, I would advise you, in your saner moments, to acquaint yourself with my record in public service - from my appointment as Special Adviser on Education to Mr. Governor in 2019 to my present tour of duty at the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources. The record is public, and it speaks for itself.
As for the labels and accusations, I will leave others to judge them on their merits. I have no intention of engaging in personal attacks or trading insults with a political nomad driven by ignorance and needless hatred.
I wish you all the best.

One of he legacies of Peter Obi as Governor, the killing of youths was his approach to tackling insecurity. Yet, he wants the same youths to vote him into power.
TROOPS RESCUE FOUR KIDNAP VICTIMS AS OFFENSIVE INTENSIFIES AGAINST NOTORIOUS BANDIT KINGPIN, CRIMINAL NETWORKS IN KATSINA
Troops of the Nigerian Army conducting Operation CLEAN SWEEP III have recorded another major breakthrough in ongoing counter-banditry operations in Katsina State, rescuing another four kidnapped victims during sustained offensive operations targeting the notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and his criminal network.
On Tuesday, 16 June 2026, troops of 17 Brigade Strike Group/Quick Response Force supported by troops of 8 Division Special Forces launched a deliberate offensive to clear terrorists' hideouts in Fafu Village along the Matazu-Musawa axis. Prior to the ground assault, the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA conducted Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions over the area, enabling troops to accurately identify and dominate the terrorists' enclave.
Troops made contact with the terrorists and engaged them with overwhelming firepower. Unable to withstand the troops' aggressive offensive, the terrorists fled in disarray and abandoned their camp and captives. Subsequent exploitation of the camp led to the rescue of four abducted victims.
The rescued victims were immediately evacuated to Forward Operating Base Matazu where they were received by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General BP Koughna, who reassured them of their safety and reaffirmed the commitment of troops to restoring peace and security across the state. Sime of the victims, who sustained gunshot wounds inflicted by their abductors during captivity, received immediate medical attention and were subsequently moved to the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina for expert medical management.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were abducted on 14 April 2026 from Sabon Sara along the Matazu-Karaduwa Road and were held in captivity alongside the late Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd) and his wife.
Troops remain on the trail of Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and other criminal elements and will continue to sustain aggressive operations until all those responsible for acts of terror against innocent citizens are apprehended or neutralised. The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies remains committed to ensuring that terrorists and bandits have no safe haven.
TROOPS OF 12 BRIGADE RESCUE FIVE KIDNAP VICTIMS AS TERRORISTS FLEE SUSTAINED MILITARY ONSLAUGHT
Troops of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army under 2 Division Nigerian Army have successfully intercepted and rescued five kidnapped victims abandoned by fleeing terrorists during ongoing counter terrorism operations in Kogi State.
The feat was recorded on 17 June 2026 as troops intensified efforts to exploit the successes achieved from recent coordinated ground and air operations against terrorist enclaves operating within the state’s forested areas. The operation formed part of sustained offensive actions aimed at dismantling the criminal networks of notorious terrorist kingpins and denying the criminals freedom of action within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
Acting on operational directives and following the recent air interdiction mission conducted against a known terrorist hideout within the forest, troops deployed from Forward Operating Base Oshokoshoko on a blocking mission along Oshokoshoko–Adankolo route within Adankolo Forest. During the operation, vigilant troops intercepted five kidnapped victims who had been abandoned by the terrorists while fleeing from the intense military pressure mounted on their camps.
Preliminary findings revealed that the victims had regained their freedom after the terrorists were forced to disperse in the aftermath of the ongoing kinetic operations targeting their hideouts. The victims were immediately secured by the troops and evacuated from the forest to a safe location for further assessment and care.
Subsequently, the rescued victims were moved to a military medical facility where they received medical attention and stabilization. The victims were also debriefed to obtain useful intelligence that could assist ongoing operations aimed at locating and neutralizing the remaining terrorists still operating within the general area. Efforts have equally been initiated to reunite the victims with their respective families after completion of necessary administrative and medical procedures.
The successful rescue further highlights the effectiveness of the ongoing coordinated operations being conducted by troops of 12 Brigade against terrorists and other criminal elements threatening peace and security in Kogi State. It also demonstrates the military’s resolve to sustain pressure on criminal groups until all camps and safe havens within the area are dismantled.
The Commander 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, commended the troops for their vigilance, resilience and professionalism which led to the successful interception and rescue of the victims. He noted that the achievement was a testament to the Brigade’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property within its Area of Responsibility. The Commander reassured residents of Kogi State and adjoining communities that troops will continue to sustain aggressive operations against terrorists and other criminal elements until lasting peace and security are fully restored. He further urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, emphasizing that public support remains critical to the success of ongoing military operations.

Dear Peter Obi,
I'm afraid I have to disagree with your assessment of why there are a large number of prisoners of Nigerian origin in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
This situation is not the result of a "systemic crisis", as you put it, or any failure of the Nigerian government, and the administration of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, as you indicated.
I have been to Ethiopia over fifty times, and if you fact-check me, I have publicly advocated for these prisoners long before their rescue by the Tinubu administration.
You, on the other hand, have NEVER advocated for them. Yet, instead of appreciating the Tinubu administration for rescuing our valued citizens imprisoned in Ethiopia, you are trying to blame the President for their plight, when most of these prisoners were convicted before Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President.
The overwhelming majority of them are in Kaliti Prison, Ethiopia, for drug-related offences.
Poor people do not buy narcotics and airline tickets for transatlantic flights.
This indicates that greed for money, rather than any failing of the Tinubu government or Nigerian society, as you implied, is responsible for their plight.
The Federal Republic of Somalia's economic and security situation is far below Nigeria's, and Somalia shares a border with Ethiopia.
If your postulation against Nigeria was correct, then Ethiopian prisons should be full of Somalians "in search of green pastures", to use your words. But that is not the case.
If you really cared about poverty, you would have built schools, but you failed to build a single nursery, primary, secondary school, or university during your eight-year tenure as Anambra Governor.
I would urge you, sir, to please refrain from politicising every issue in your desperation to become President.
If you cannot appreciate this noble gesture on the part of President Bola Tinubu and Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, then please do not complicate their as-yet unfinished work by imputing wrong motives to it.
Allow our brothers and sisters to return home without poking your nose where it does not belong.

Alleged $1.3m, N746.7m: Court Dismisses Sadiya Farouq Application to set Aside Warrant of Arrest
Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, sitting in Apo, Abuja on Monday, June 15, 2026 dismissed an application filed by the counsel to a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq seeking the setting aside of the Bench Warrant and Warrant of Arrest issued against the former minister
Farouq, alongside two others, Bashir Nura Alkali and Sani Nafiu Mohammed are to face prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, abuse of office and diversion of public funds to the tune of $1.3 million and N746.7 million
While delivering his ruling on Monday, the judge held that the defendant has willfully failed to appear in court without a valid reason, maintaining that the law empowers the court when it has been ascertained that the defendant is absent from court without a valid reason to issue a bench warrant of arrest.
“The defendant who is fully aware that this is a criminal proceeding has willfully failed to appear in court without a valid reason and the law empowers the court when it has been ascertained that the defendant is absent from court without a valid reason to issue a bench warrant of arrest. There is nothing in the exhibit explaining why the defendant who has mere arthritis and heart disease cannot appear before the court. Is it that there are no medical facilities in Nigeria? I am convinced that the 1st defendant is trying to hide behind her fingers, by raising bogus excuses. It is important that the applicant be reminded that this is a criminal matter and not a civil one and there is an approach to its proceedings. By all legal considerations, I am of the opinion that there is no merit in this application, I so hold” he said.
Reacting, counsel to the prosecution, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN appreciated the judge for a well-considered ruling, he further reminded the court of the undertaking by defence counsel A.A Ibrahim, SAN to produce the 1st defendant , urging the court that it should not be taken for granted, but be enforced.
“My lordship, for a senior counsel to make an undertaking which is reflected in your lordship`s ruling, we crave your lordship to give effect to that undertaking by A.A Ibrahim SAN to produce the defendant. If you look at the so- called medical report attached, it is only asking for the period of six and eight weeks with which the defendant will be arrested and that the eight weeks had expired on June 9, 2026. I plead with your lordship that the court should not take the undertaking for granted. On our part, we have decided to give effect to the arrest of the first defendant, we also ask the counsel to the first defendant to cooperate and produce his client on the next adjournment to avoid a coercive power” he said
Responding, A.M Lawal who stood in for A.A Ibrahim, SAN urged the judge to allow Ibrahim to be present in court to respond to the EFCC’s application on the issue of the undertaking.
Justice Onwuegbuzie granted his request stating that Ibrahim should be allowed to be in court to defend himself on the issue of undertaking.
The matter was adjourned to July 2, 2026 for arraignment
@PeterObi Peter Obi mention that Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany.
Did he mention Folarin Balogun who scored a brace for USA?
Is it time to call him bigot or I should wait a bit?
