View of the tornado east of Dwight, Illinois yesterday. First tornado I've ever seen in person.

@wild_scavenger Jerboa cove could become a port city that connects Pyrrhia and Pantala since it offers a natural water barrier, plus it could provide a short rail route to possibility

[Atlas @SilkWingWX]

@kadrnadrchasr Stayed south of it while it was rain wrapped. Really beautiful structure from it though.

Ok, might be one of the cooler photos I have taken.

Seeing stuff like this always makes me want to cry

[sage 🜃 comms on hold !! @SWlRLYEYES]

we have a joke in illinois that you dont need the highway sign telling you youre in indiana. youll feel it.

[Atlas @SilkWingWX]

@Mesotography No yeah it was beautiful. I imagine plenty of low level shear like we had today gets you good RFD cuts like these

[Atlas @SilkWingWX]

Man today was difficult to chase. Lots of potential targets before going linear within an hour. Didn't get much other than this supercell in Birds, IL but it felt good to refresh my chasing skills

[Atlas @SilkWingWX]

@JackKelley_wx All the supercells today looked suspicious but only like one or two of them actually produced. I was just south of the Russellville tornado but that one would've been a nightmare to get in front of in order to see it for me.

Drone video of the #tornado with CC drop near Russellville, Illinois moments ago. @WxWiseApp @ryanhallyall

@FlickerToons I was about to say lol engineering furries are a gamble between genuinely cool people and complete chuds

Illinois tomorrow

[angel , 🎃 @yungvocafoid]

steam could kill my entire bloodline and i would still use it over epic’s vibecoded jerusalemware

[Drew Brummel @DrewBrummelWX]

In all seriousness, tomorrow actually looks interesting for a few tornadoes assuming the environment can recover

I will be studying for a Dynamics MET exam for Friday, so wishing the best to those planning on chasing this tomorrow!

[Star @StarInBoxWx]

Wouldn't be 2026 without another tornado threat in Illinois

Watching for a couple supercells, and an isolated tornado or two, in Illinois (or western Indiana) on Thursday:
