@vlevin1836 I am very sympathetic to this take. However, this week’s parsha seems to indicate that the word חלה can also be used to refer to the loaf itself. See for example ויקרא ב:ד.
@blakeflayton Seeing a lot of replies here about attachment to community. All true. But as a gay Orthodox Jew myself, it runs way deeper than that. Perhaps - and this may come a shock to you - there are LGBT+ people who are Orthodox because they genuinely believe in Orthodox Judaism?
