We will give the Refugees Appeals Board the necessary support to perform their mandate and specially decision making and turn around period of the same. The new modus operandi is informed by the new refugees act 2021 which also carries the new structures for the board.
Between April and September 2022, ECCES’ peace messages impacted 215,222 people directly—and another 15 million indirectly—as 41 peace accords got signed by the warring communities.
We urged locals to cast their ballots peacefully, be politically tolerant and participate in the by-election. Eleven candidates are contesting. We did these peace meetings through @USAIDKenya's Electoral Conflicts Mitigation and Civic Education Support (ECCES) program.
Bungoma residents, on December 8, will vote for a new Senator after @HonWetangula got elected as @NAssemblyKE speaker. Ahead of the mini-poll, we supported @kareu_mpya in holding peace meetings in Kanduyi and Sirisia to forestall violence experienced in past by-elections.
Prompt action must be taken in response to some of these social media messages that have been recognized for having offensive racial and religious overtones.
