@MrkelsGame Let me give you some actual reasons.
Dev crunching
Union Busting
No support of their games, other than GTAO
Predatory monetization
GTA Legacy edition release was a total disrespect
@GuujiGaming@Marcodmeatball Some people can't play games until some chinese company turns that game into a money hungry mtx exploit. Soulless cashgrabs.
@BRAP_Podcast "Look at me, I work to cover games, so I can call the price reasonable." These people working on games will never know about people who have to spend hours on work, only to return to games that don't respect you.
After watching the latest NeverKnowsBest video, I am more and more seeing the disconnect between actual gamers and these people who work in games coverage. His video calls it journalism, but that is a word too high for people like these.
People are crashing out over Colin's tweet.
But Colin's point is that $80 is discretionary spending on a luxury entertainment product. Nobody needs GTA VI, nobody is being forced to buy it, and consumers are free to decide if the price isn't worth it. This is how the free market works.
You can think $80 is too expensive, and that's reasonable. But pretending consumer choice disappears because you dislike Rockstar's pricing isn't an argument. The market will ultimately decide whether the price is sustainable. Again, free market.
@ZhugeEX I have been playing indie korean and chinese games for a while now (although korean indie scene is not as strong).
But this AAA push from them have just led to homogenised releases, which feels like they were optimized to achieve certian metric and mandates.
@longislandviper@ComplainsLex It is because of bootlicker like you that the hobby we all like is getting worse. Ready to accept any shit from their corporate overlords.
