@JasonL_Capital 100%. But to actually become the casino, you have to operate with strict "House Rules." For us, 90% of winning as a premium seller is having the mechanical discipline to walk away when the pre-trade checklist says no. Great work—keep spreading the word.
Most retail traders get slaughtered because they treat options like a casino instead of a business. Coming from 53 years in corporate finance as a CFO, I always tell people that options aren't gambling if you enforce strict rules—pre-trade checklists, Delta checks, and active stop-loss protection change the entire game. Excellent reminder!
Brilliant capital efficiency! Earning yield on T-Bills while using cash collateral to sell puts on Tastytrade is pure, professional-grade income architecture. We route all of our Silver Bullet Stock Scanner parameters through Tastytrade for that exact level of precision. Good work and best wishes!
Great on $NKE. Getting paid a premium while waiting on an entry price for a quality stock you actually want to own is the definition of smart capital management. We filter for those exact high-conviction cash-secured put setups on our Silver Bullet Stock Scanner every week—patience and strict mechanics always win! Best wishes for a prosperous future.
Good strategy. I did not want to own the stock, so I went another route. I got some stock back when I was buying and selling stocks. I am still holding it. My fault. Now, I like to deal in a few elite liquid stocks. Sell cash-secured puts OTM and then buy back at a goal of 50% profit and never own the stock. Got my rules, my scanner and sit in the blind until the right setup comes along.
Great approach! Being ready for assignment and strategically deploying that income into higher convexity shows real discipline. We filter for those exact cash-secured put setup criteria in our Silver Bullet Options Handbook pre-trade checklist to keep risk defined. Wishing you continuous success with it!
@GameStock_app@valerijatrades1 I like my way. I sell cash secured puts and buy them back before expiration. My rules that I developed allows me to when the setup is optimal.
@JasonL_Capital Outstanding. I sell cash secured puts with the objective of buying the option back before expiration at a profit. Never want to own the stock.
What a great outcome on that fill! Tastytrade really shines when it comes to price improvement for serious traders. Following strict mechanics and managing trades disciplined is everything—it’s why we build those exact order parameters into our Pre-Trade Checklist in the Silver Bullet Options Handbook. Keep up the great work! Outstanding.
Great strategy! Capturing yield on high-quality Mag 7 names while earning interest on cash reserves is fantastic income architecture. That structured 30-day Delta approach is right in line with the disciplined framework we use in our Silver Bullet Options Handbook. You are right on the money.
@valerijatrades1 Great mindset, Valerie! Getting paid to wait on target entry prices is the smartest way to trade. I filter for those exact cash-secured put setups on my Silver Bullet Stock Scanner every week—patience and strict mechanics always win out in the end!
Yes, you are very correct. Buffett treats selling options like underwriting an insurance policy—calculating downside risk down to the penny before collecting a dime of premium. Retail calls it gambling because they operate on gut feelings instead of a disciplined execution framework. Capital preservation must always come before capital appreciation. You are a very smart person.
One tip. Willingness to take assignment is crucial, but forcing a trade just to fill a roster spot is a slippery slope. Before routing any order, running strict Delta checks and enforcing portfolio exposure limits ensures you aren't taking on uncompensated risk just to chase premium. I think defense always comes first. Just my thoughts.
Selling cash-secured puts is one of the most reliable strategies out there, but treating it as "easy" is where most retail traders get into trouble. Without strict Delta checks and a non-negotiable pre-trade checklist, people end up bag-holding good companies at terrible entry prices. Mechanics over emotion every time.
