This evening, I attended the @cdnpork and @CMCCVC to learn more about the 7000 pork producers and their contribution to feeding Canadians. Canadian hog farmers produce approx. 25.52 million animals a year and generate $13.1 billion in economic activity. #agandruralmatters@SenateCA
It was great to meet with pork producers and processors from across Canada with @JohnBarlowMP.
We discussed the current issues they face with processing capacity and the importance of building more infrastructure to support pork made in Canada.

Thank you Minister MacAulay for meeting with CPC Chair, René Roy, CMC Chair, Russ Mallard, and Ontario Pork Producers Chair, Tara Terpstra, to engage in conversation surrounding trade issues, labour needs in the pork value chain, and ASF recovery program planning.
Members, staff, and the Board participated in further discussions with MP Karen Vecchio, MP Larry Maguire, and MP Bernard Généreux.
As national leaders in the sector, it's crucial we continue to collaborate to be a united voice for Canada's 8000 pork producers and processors. CPC is committed to building and maintaining strong relationships with Canada's policymakers to advance the Canadian pork industry.

Producers from Mexico, the United States, and Canada gathered at the 2024 #CongresoOpormex to discuss joint issues of concern at the annual trilateral meeting. A big thank you to @Opormex_org for hosting us and to our North American colleagues for the great discussions!
Today it was moved that: “this House disagrees with the amendments made by the Senate to Bill C 234"
This isn't just about easing the financial strain on agricultural communities, it's about extending relief to families at the grocery store. #AxeTheTax#canadianfarmers#Farming
