Proud to serve as Ontario Minister of Rural Affairs and to also represent the provincial riding of Huron-Bruce at Queen’s Park.

[Lisa Thompson @LisaThompsonPC]

Serving as MPP for the Riding of Huron-Bruce, as well as Ontario Minister of Rural Affairs is truly the honour of a lifetime.

I take this responsibility very seriously and I thank Premier Ford and the people of Huron-Bruce for placing their trust in me once again.

I was privileged to participate in the official opening of the 3rd suite at Huron Shores @HSHospice today in #Tiverton.

The vision, commitment and sense of community #HuronShores has is evident in all the hospice does, especially in their partnership with the Tiverton Park Manor.

It was also wonderful to see families & supporters come together to celebrate!

Great to attend the 2026 Ontario Tourism Summit and join discussions on the role of tourism in strengthening rural Ontario.

Tourism plays an important role in diversifying local economies, supporting small businesses, attracting investment, and creating jobs.

Thank you to TIAO for bringing partners together for these important conversations.

We're making housing more affordable by:

🏠 Removing the full 13% HST from new homes
🏗️ Cutting development costs to help build homes faster and more affordably

Together, these measures could save homebuyers up to $200,000 off the cost of a new home.

Appreciated the opportunity to tour the #PortOfGoderich with @samoosterhoff as part of the Marine Economic Forum this year in #Goderich

I was impressed with the #AgriDome the Port has invested in to meet demand.

I support the Port’s strategic plan for growth as well - BTW, cruise ships arrive in 2028!

It’s Small Business Week!

In the face of economic uncertainty, our government is cutting taxes and keeping costs down to help small business owners grow, create local jobs and build a more competitive economy.

A valuable meeting and tour of Hensall Co-op, showcasing the potential for innovation, investment, and expansion within Ontario’s agri-food sector. Organizations like Hensall Co-op help demonstrate how rural businesses can drive economic growth, strengthen supply chains, and create new opportunities for communities across the province.

We’re using every tool at our disposal to protect Ontario jobs in the face of U.S. tariffs.

Through our Buy Ontario policy, we’re leveraging $30 billion in annual purchasing power to prioritize Ontario businesses, keep more money in our economy and support good-paying jobs right here at home.

Ontario’s ports are opening new agricultural markets 🚢

@LisaThompsonPC and I were at the Port of Goderich today to discuss their plans for expansion and how their positioning on Lake Huron can help connect Ontario agribusinesses to new markets - both domestically and globally.

Handling over 5 million tonnes of cargo annually and supporting thousands of good jobs, the port plays an important role in growing Ontario’s economy, diversifying trade options, and strengthening our self-reliance.

[Sam Oosterhoff @samoosterhoff]

In beautiful Huron County this morning alongside @LisaThompsonPC and @huronchamber.

We are working together to power the growth of Ontario’s agri-food sector - securing our supply chains, expanding into new export markets, and building a self-reliant Ontario.
