I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the honor of being nominated patron of Africa Celebrates and to be selected as the recipient of Africa Celebrates Award, as well as to represent the famous Cultural Troupe from Burundi, AMAGABA, concurrently selected to be the recipient of the same Award. Tonight is also a moment of personal emotion for me, here in Addis Ababa. Allow me to publicly recognize that although this award is handed out to me, today, it is a result of dedicated teamwork. I take this opportunity to thank Legendary Gold, through Mr. Lexy Mojo Eyes that I now call Ambassador of Africa for the tremendous and tireless job he’s doing to bring together Africans from different sectors of life, and all his collaborators, sponsors and partners, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the African Union Commission, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and my Colleagues from the Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in Addis Ababa.

I would like to take this moment to thank my colleagues at the Embassy of the Republic of Burundi, as well as the entire Burundian Community for their involvement and the work accomplished in organizing Burundi's participation in this great event. Once again, I was able to count on competent and involved people. I want to highlight their actions, their know-how and skills.

Moreover, I would like to bring to your attention that the greatest ambassador of art and culture in Burundi and one of the greatest promoters of cultural diplomacy in Africa is His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi. He is such an inspiration for all of us and for the next generations. When I spoke to him and informed him about Africa Celebrates, he found the initiative brilliant and recommended me not to miss a good opportunity for Burundi to make its contribution to the unification of Africa through culture, art and business.

To be honest, during this journey to actively participate in the Africa Celebrates 2023,
I could not have succeeded without the support of three Ministers in Burundi, H.E. Albert Shingiro, Minister in charge of Foreign Affaires, Her.E. Marie Chantal Nijimbere Minister with Responsibility for Tourism and H.E. Gervais Abayeho, responsible for youth and culture.

Indeed we were able to bring in a famous cultural troupe, AMAGABA, thanks to the support of two Agencies, Visit Burundi and Ingomag respectively managed by Bruce Niyonzima and Rossalynn Kamariza. The latter was able to mobilize some sponsors from the largest Bank in Burundi, BANCOBU, the largest Insurance Company SOCABU and other partners including Burundi Tea Authority (OTB), Mediabox, Van Beach, Isange Travel Agency and others.

I could not have possibly imagined to one day be standing before you receiving an award, let alone to be privileged to receive it in the company of all the Burundian Community and a Big Delegation from Burundi. To that end, I commend all and everyone who participated in Africa Celebrates 2023 from across Africa and beyond for the quality of their thoughts, views and experiences shared.

Finally, Mr. Lexy Mojo Eyes, I humbly receive this prestigious award on behalf of the Burundi Embassy in Addis Ababa. Futhermore, I proclaim myself Spokesperson of AMAGABA to thank you for the Award.
