On Day-2 of my Kokrajhar-Bongaigaon tour, chaired a Review Meeting of Dept of Panchayat & Rural Development, BTC.

Was briefed on the status of several key departmental initiatives, especially the following viz;

“Lakhpati Mahila Initiative” - aimed at strengthening Women-led Development by supporting Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) & empowering the rural women of BTR;

“Peoples’ Hope Peoples’ Plan” - Participatory Constituency Development Plan, a citizen-centric initiative to enhance development, transparency & accountability in local governance; and

“Thengphakri Digital Empowerment Program” aimed at strengthening rural governance & democracy, by deepening digital literacy & digital governance.

Delighted to inaugurate a stall of Bodoland Mart under the 'One Station, One Product' scheme at Kokrajhar Railway Station, Kokrajhar today.

The Mart has been installed by ASRLM, Kokrajhar in association with the District Administration. It will consist of indigenously hand crafted products created by local Self Help Groups.

The OSOP scheme, an ambitious initiative of Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji, is aimed at promoting traditional industries and crafts at the railway station level. The scheme will encourage local entrepreneurship and help in preserving the traditional cultural heritage of the region.

DC, Kokrajhar, Smt. Varnali Deka was also present during the programme.
