Not one, not even one of us on the earth today, nor ever before nor ever after, is without sin, except The Lord Jesus himself, who is God.
My best friend once told me we are all rotten scoundrels and pure filth, which at first shocked and offended me deeply, as I felt like the ‘Pharisee’ below, doing everything I could in my life to be good and righteous.
But eventually the truth convicted me, and I now agree that we are all full of sin. No matter how good we try to make our ‘works’, we are nothing without God's grace.
We need to all be more like the tax collector below and say, “I’m a sinner, have mercy on me, forgive me for a,b, c up to z”, and it is the simple, humble prayer and confession of the heart that justifies us to be right with God!
The ERV says it perfectly: “The tax collector stood alone too. But when he prayed, he would not even look up to heaven. He felt very humble before God. He said, ‘O God, have mercy on me. I am a sinner!”
I tell you, when this man finished his prayer and went home, he was right with God. But the Pharisee, who felt that he was better than others, was not right with God.
“People who make themselves important will be made humble. But those who make themselves humble will be made important.”
Choose to be humble before God chooses to humble you!
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen🙏
Food and sex aren't the point of life.
Your body is a temple, not a toy.
Culture won’t lead you to God—it wants to own you.
But when you repent, you become free.
Don’t settle for the temporary.
Seek Jesus.
God is real. Jesus rose. Death was defeated.
Without that context? Life becomes a nightmare of false idols: status, sex, designer boots and fame.
When they fall—and they will—what will you be left with?
Choose wisely what you worship. Eternity depends on it.
