This man, Adrian Shawn Mupfunde, was arrested for stealing several vehicles over the past two months, including a Nissan March in Warren Park, a Honda Shuttle in Gweru, an AD Van in Magunje, a Honda Fit Hybrid in Machipisa, and a Toyota Aqua in Mbare.

We have been informed that he was recently arrested in Karoi and has since been transferred to Harare.

Coal producer Makomo Resources has had to reassure its workers that it was not the “Makomo” that reportedly gifted US$50K at the recent Tagwirei wedding.

Makomo Resources says it may have been confused with Makomo Engineering, an unrelated business (owned by Jin Liangming).

Makomo Resources is rebuilding after emerging from corporate rescue last year. The miner entered corporate rescue in 2021 due to debts owed to creditors, including workers.

The Africa Industrialisation Index 2025 is the African Development Bank’s ranking of how industrialised Africa’s 54 countries are.

The report says Zimbabwe has recorded some of the fastest manufacturing growth rates in Southern Africa since 2010, but remains heavily dependent on metals, which account for 92.2% of manufactured exports.

This is the highest concentration in the region, ahead of Zambia (85.7%), Mozambique (65.8%) and South Africa (52.2%). As a result, industrial diversification and job creation remain limited.

Zimbabwe also dropped five places in the overall industrialisation rankings between 2010 and 2024.
