You were not a slave, and you have just as much opportunity as anyone else in this country! What matters is how you spend you time in life, if you want to sit around then you wont accomplish much, and I am saying this from my own experiences, I am not saying you are lazy, or an attack on a community! I am saying this off of what I have learned in my life, and what I have learned from successful people that I admire! We can all always find fault, and put blame on other people, their situations, but in reality our lives are up to us... and our decisions. I do understand that alot of people in the African American community have grown up in poverty, and have been influenced by gang life, peer pressure. I do understand many of you Ancestors were treated horrible, and slavery was definitely wrong, but blaming people now days for it still doesn't change the fact that nobody owes any of us anything in this life. We make our own lives, and we cant expect anyone to hand us a better life just because of our heritage. I am sorry for what happend to you Ancestors. And it will always be a stain on this country, and the rest of the world, but Slavery has been going on since the beginning of time, ALL RACES have been enslaved at one point or another, and unfortunately it is still going on to this day! SEX TRAFFICKING, In CERTAIN MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES ISLAMIC TERRORIST GROUPS HAVE BEEN TAKING CHRISTIANS AS SLAVES, USING THEM AND THEN KILLING THEM FOR JUST BEING CHRISTIANS. it is wrong, and something needs to be done about it. But (MY OPPINION) taking everyone's tax dollars to just pay people because they had slave Ancestors is not the answer. My purpose of this message is not to offend anyone, I just wanted to share my point of view as an outsider, that has no direct affiliation with the topic, other than my tax dollars. I hope my message will reach someone, and help them think in a different way.
