Congratulations to SAPS and other law enforcement agencies on the swift arrests of two suspects for the murders of Dina and Ernst Marais at the Kruger National Park.
The two Mozambican nationals (32 & 33) were arrested in Mozambique and appeared in court in Maputo today.
May justice be swift. Condolences to the Marais family and their friends for the terrible loss.
@Nanaezze@Sophie_Mokoena This is not difficult to understand. The government is entitled to satisfy itself that there is compliance by the company with the laws of the country and other regulatory protocols before considering extending the license. A legal compliance culture must be encouraged.
@MzwaneleManyi That’s good. As it is, the section is unconstitutional. It shields potentially corrupt judges, a purpose it was set up for but in a different time. It is not suitable now .
@JamesSamJones_@PolitikalStratu Be careful. The CC did not order an impeachment. It only ordered that the report be referred to the Imprachment Committee. Yes a court can interdict the NA if very good - justifiable - reasons are provided. It will be mindful of the separation of powers principle.
@ZwaneOmkhulu No winner really. The legal process is outlined, applies to everyone and obviously takes a while. The politics is also clear and will be felt now, in the medium and also long term. The LGE are 6 months away. A poor showing there will and should influence what happens next.
🇿🇦Our fiduciary test is not to say no when we don’t know; but to be sufficiently qualified and informed to make a judgement call either way - if you can’t do that, resign.🇿🇦
It’s not judicial overreach. Parliament had the opportunity to handle the matter properly the first time and failed to do so. The court is now effectively reminding them of their constitutional obligations and how to carry them out correctly. That’s part of what makes our democracy unique; the institutions are designed to keep each other accountable.
42.66 😳🔥South Africa Stand Up 🇿🇦
The World just witnessed something SPECIAL. Lythe Pillay has officially run the fastest 400m split in history, clocking an unbelievable 42.66 at the World Relay Championships.
To understand how INSANE this is… the individual 400m world record held by Wayde van Niekerk stands at 43.03. Yes, you’re reading that right. Pillay’s split was even faster than that legendary mark, although relay splits aren’t officially recorded the same way.
That puts this performance into GOD-TIER territory. Running under that kind of pressure, with the baton, against the world’s best… and still producing a time like that? Unreal.
From rising talent to global statement, Pillay just stamped his name into athletics history. South African sprinting is alive, dangerous, and ready to dominate again.
Are we witnessing the next sprint king from SA? 🇿🇦🔥🤔

@hobsonj123@IamMakhombothi Precisely. He ran the School of Government for over 5 yrs and repositioned it to where it is including internationally. No qualified audits.
