【[Studying a Layout cut drawing】
Let’s take a look at this layout (LO) drawing from episode 5 season 2 of Frieren!
Despite being a simple cut where each layer only has one drawing, the LO is packed with information needed for the production and next step in the process!
The lighting is specified, a BOOK object (a separate BG part) is drawn & notated, and each character is drawn & filled in with a yellow cel color to help differentiate from the BG!
The LO paper itself has numerous areas to write in regarding the cut. Everything is very organized! (1/2)
【Studying a cut with numerous layers】
A cut with 2 characters can be deceptively complicated! This cut of Frieren and Fern from episode 9 of Frieren season 2 is divided into 5 layers: A, B, C, D, and E!
Layer A is Fern, Layer B is Frieren, Layer C is Frieren’s eyes and eyebrows when Fern wipes, Layer D is water droplets on Frieren’s face when wiping, and Layer E is her mouth flaps! (1/2)
