For the first time, ICT/BPM exports overtook tea in April 2026 $146M vs $100M.

And the gap is only widening.

Projections for full-year 2026:
IT/BPM: ~$1.78B (+22.6% YoY)
Tea: ~$1.31B (−6.8% YoY)
Projected annual gap: ~$470M

What was once a tea-and-textiles economy is quietly becoming a knowledge economy.

AI is not intelligence.
AI is not thinking
AI is not inventing.

That’s because AI is not really AI.
LLMs are named in a misleading way.

The best way to think about LLMs is to think about autocomplete.

You type in letters until you get a match on the word you want.

To make it produce good results you need type the correct sequence of letters.

AI = autocomplete-on-steroids:
💭 bad input → useless output
🎯 good input → useful output

LLMs generate output by predicting the most likely next word or sequence based on patterns in its training data using statistical association.

That’s it. It’s math.
It’s impressive and super useful.

But it’s not intelligence or thinking.

AI is as good as the operator.
For now you are still in charge.

I see so much misinformation about AI in developer workflows which unfortunately backfires and makes people skeptical.

AI tools are real and they are helpful

Ignore absolute statements such as LLMs will replace engineers, and instead focus on enhancing your workflows with them.

It was originally written on NG 7. Upgraded to every NG version since and now at v19. Planning on v20. All our apps are updated new versions as soon there's a release.

@Armandotrue I did write a directive to show a skeleton placeholder or overlay the content with css loading animation with default with providable configuration or on the fly configurable where it is used. Clean template. When loading state is true, wrapped area is shown with a loader.

Sri Lanka’s 🇱🇰 Digital Dream Stuck at the @PayPal/@stripe Gate

The single biggest leap Sri Lanka’s 🇱🇰 digital economy can make isn’t rolling out 5G or chasing AI, it’s giving Sri Lankan people the power to monetize digital products by easily receiving payments via PayPal, Stripe, and other global platforms.

⭕ Yet for over a decade, successive governments have failed to deliver access to this basic digital infrastructure. Outdated regulations, bureaucratic inertia, and protectionist banks have choked our freelancers and startups—while the rest of the world surges ahead.

⭕ Look at Stripe then and now, It's now valued at over $90 billion+ and processing $1.4 trillion annually, is integrated with nearly every major digital platform. Imagine if Sri Lanka had moved forward with this in 2016—where would our digital economy be today?

Tariffs are not how you bring back manufacturing to the US:

If you want to solve a problem, you must address the root cause.

Why did manufacturing leave the US? Simple, for more profit: Companies made more money by paying next to nothing for manufacturing and selling at the same price with massive margins. We see the threads about branded luxury items and how they're all made in China at a fraction of the sale price. I know that $100 apparel items are made and shipped out of Sri Lanka for $5.

So how do you fix it? Just change the corporate tax rules to calculate the percentage of products that are made in foreign countries and blow up the corporate tax for that part. CEOs, boards, shareholders are all focused on profit and shareholder maximization - so make them do the right thing by hitting them where it hurts and force them to not focus only on profits at the expense of everything else. Left alone capitalism has no morals or qualms about optimizing just for profit.

Putting a tariff on imports just allows these companies to pass the cost to customers and remain rich corporations. Instead they will want tax *credits* and govt subsidies to bring the work back.
