I haven't had any meetings with my bio Dad that have not been forced by guilt-tripping or family pressure since I was 18ish. He's a narcissist, and an emotional abuser with alcohol problems and a quick and occasionally violent temper. We haven't spoken for 15+ years

at this point. As my kids grew up I understood him less, and condemned his treatment of me and my siblings more. He's never acknowledged his faults or apologised for his behaviour, I doubt he thinks he was ever in the wrong. I've now heard he's dying, maybe 2 months to live

Currently playing Where Winds Meet and enjoying it, but spending far too much time tabbing through random menus for things I don't really need just because I hate not clicking on things that are tagged as 'new' to clear them. It squicks me. I hope it doesn't stop me playing

I am, or rather will be, jobless in the new year. It is a remarkably freeing feeling. I haven't felt this stress-free in years.
Sadly I will have to find something else by the summer as redundancy money isn't limitless, but in the meantime I shall enjoy my free time.
