🚨 **FOI JACKPOT — CAMBRIDGESHIRE POLICE**

This is one of the clearest responses yet for the Police Information Map.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has confirmed exactly what its Athena system can record, search, filter and report on.

FOI Ref: **FOI2026/06856**
Response: **24 August 2026**

Their main systems are:

• Crime records — **Athena**
• Custody records — **Athena**
• Intelligence records — **Athena**
• Case management — **Athena**
• Incident logs — **Storm**

And this is where it gets interesting.

Cambridgeshire says Athena can **record, search/report and filter** by:

**Suspects**
• Age
• Age band
• Sex
• **Nationality**
• Ethnicity
• **Country of birth**
• **Immigration status, where recorded**
• Occupation
• Vulnerability markers
• Repeat offender markers

**Victims**
• Age
• Age band
• Sex
• **Nationality**
• Ethnicity
• Vulnerability markers
• Repeat victim markers

It also confirms searches/reporting for:

• Crime type
• Home Office offence code
• Crime status
• Investigation status
• Outcome/disposal
• Date reported
• Date occurred
• Date closed
• Geographic area/location/postcode
• Arrest made
• Voluntary interview
• Charged
• Postal requisition
• Summons
• CPS referral
• NFA/other disposal outcomes

But the biggest confirmation is Question 3.

🚨 **NATIONALITY**

Cambridgeshire Police states:

**Nationality is routinely recorded for suspects through the custody system and is a MANDATORY FIELD.**

For victims it is recorded through the investigation/case element, although it is **not mandatory**.

They then explicitly confirm:

✅ Nationality is searchable
✅ Statistical reports can be generated using nationality as a filtering category

And then Question 4:

🚨 **IMMIGRATION-RELATED INFORMATION**

Cambridgeshire confirms the following Athena categories are searchable and/or reportable where recorded:

✅ Immigration status
✅ Asylum seeker status
✅ Refugee status
✅ Visa status
✅ Country of birth
✅ Citizenship

Then Question 5 confirms that **statistical reports can be generated using one or more searchable categories**.

They say reports are often generated through a **Data Gateway**, with data uploaded from another system **daily**.

That matters.

Because the question I've been trying to establish across UK forces is not:

“Give me somebody's personal police record.”

It is:

**What information do police systems actually hold, and what can those systems statistically report?**

Cambridgeshire has now given an unusually clear answer.

Nationality: searchable/reportable.
Country of birth: searchable/reportable.
Immigration status: searchable/reportable.
Asylum seeker status: searchable/reportable.
Refugee status: searchable/reportable.
Visa status: searchable/reportable.
Citizenship: searchable/reportable.

And nationality for suspects entering custody is **mandatory**.

Cambridgeshire did apply **Section 31 Law Enforcement** to the more detailed system documentation — including data dictionaries, detailed search/reporting documentation and user guidance — arguing that releasing those documents could reveal operational capabilities.

Fair enough.

But the high-level capability question has been answered.

This is exactly why I'm building the **Police Information Map**.

Force by force.
System by system.
Field by field.

No personal data.

No guessing.

Just establishing what information public bodies actually record, what can be searched, and what can be statistically reported.

Little known fact, High treason still exists in British law.

The Treason Act 1351 remains partly in force. Offences include levying war against the Sovereign and GIVING AID OR COMFORT to the Sovereign’s enemies.

Importantly, the death penalty no longer applies. Parliament abolished the death penalty for treason through section 36 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
