A long-time Australian primary school principal, Janelle Rowe, lost her job after 34 years because she wouldnβt push a school βLGBTQIA+ awareness dayβ (Wear It Purple Day) on young kids.
She said sexuality and gender stuff for 4- to 12-year-olds should be left to parents, not teachers. She wanted a simple anti-bullying week instead.
The education department disagreed, put her under extra scrutiny, and told her to run the event. She ended up leaving.
