My daughter's last day of high school was today. In her senior English class, her teacher had all of them sit on the floor and said "You start off in kindergarten sitting on a rug for story time, and I thought you could finish that way, too." Then she proceeded to sit on a chair and read them the book "Oh the Places You'll Go."

Wonderful news!
Grateful for the effort by @Denise_Ilitch to make this happen.
Shout out, too, to the Team USA women who stunned the world by upsetting mighty Canada for the first Olympic gold medal in '98. On their shoulders all girls and women playing the game now stand.
I've been lucky to have some incredible teachers, but my 6th grade teacher, Mr. Bamrick, stands out above the rest.
He taught me two things that shaped my life:
✏️ How to speak with confidence
✏️ How to believe in myself
We stayed in touch over the years through visits and video chats. He passed away in the fall of 2023, and I'm thinking of him today.
Grateful for him, and for all the teachers who empower their students.

We completed a feasibility study in October of 2024 to bring NCAA D1 women's hockey to @UMich, which would be the first program in the State of Michigan since 2011 (Wayne State).
The momentum is growing & we have a committed group pushing to make this happen. @Denise_Ilitch
2⃣0⃣0⃣‼️Kirsten Simms joins an elite list of Badgers:
Casey O'Brien, Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Sara Bauer, Brooke Ammerman and Annie Pankowski!
Kirsten Simms: built for the big moment.
She scored the game tying goal with 18 seconds left in regulation, and the game winner in overtime.
Oh, and by the way, it's her second career game winner in a national title game.

Full credit to UM Regents @Denise_Ilitch and @JordanAckerMI and Prez @SantaJOno for pushing this issue forward. It's going to be fun watching the UM women's program rise to a national power.
According to a feasibility study, the addition of #WomensHockey at the University of Michigan could lead to a new arena, either for the men's team or both programs.
My latest for @chnews#NCAA
