Not a bad way 2 start the week! Grateful to the @RoySocChem for supporting my research through an Research Fund grant.
This grant will support my project, "Chiral AuNPs templated by self-assembling peptides for antimicrobial response".
Looking forward 2 developing this work.🧪
The review compares cages built entirely from peptides, where structure is encoded in the sequence, with hybrid architectures in which a pre-organised scaffold defines the shape and peptides add selectivity and responsiveness, highlighting opportunities across different fields.
#ChemBioChem Self-assembling peptides direct the synthesis and organisation of gold nanoparticles, with sequence and assembly conditions tuning morphology, chirality and properties (@simoado and co-workers) #openaccess 🔓 https://t.co/vLWTfDs1gk
The second explores peptide gels as soft 3D matrices where NPs nucleation and growth occur in situ within a macroscopic yet nanostructured environment. This work illustrates how rational peptide design enables control over the structure and properties of peptide–AuNP materials.
Thrilled to share my first paper https://t.co/Bu0wL6ZwvS as corresponding author in #ChemBioChem@ChemEurope. In this concept review we discuss how self-assembling peptides control gold nanoparticle nucleation growth and organisation.
The review examines two complementary strategies for templating gold nanoparticles with self-assembling peptides. The first relies on discrete supramolecular assemblies that act as nanoscale scaffolds, enabling precise organisation and chirality transfer.
If you’d like to know more about the work I presented, carried out in collaboration with the Nitschke group at
@ChemCambridge and the @MarchesanLab at @DSCF_UniTS, you can read our open-access paper here: https://t.co/WYSFAGmLqE.
Had a fantastic time in Glasgow for @Faraday_D on supramolecular gels, great to meet so many leaders in the field. Grateful to the organisers for the chance to present my work and to @SupraChem for the 1st Gen Travel Grant that made it possible!
What a wonderful opportunity to be part of #EFMCISMC24 in Rome and to present my poster on AI and ML-based approaches for the design of new adenosine A2A antagonists in collaboration with @Evotec@MedChemLabUnits.
Hope to see you at P467 stand!

I’m honoured to receive the prestigious Carlo Pedone Award 2024 for my PhD thesis. I would like to thank @itpeptsoc, its president Prof. Mangoni, the previous one Prof. Morelli and @EurPepSoc for the opportunity to present my thesis at 37th EPS and 14th IPS.

Happy to share the article relative to my master #thesis on #insulin fibrillation #inhibition. Thank you to my supervisor @MarchesanLab and @annagarfer for driving this work and to my cosupervisor @simoado for backing me up throughout the thesis. https://t.co/7KkcEGBdjQ
