This Israeli model who argued in a publicly aired interview that killing Palestinian children is justifiable because they’ll become terrorists faced zero professional consequences. She remains a host of a major TV show in Israel. Similarly, Ilya Shapiro, an American attorney, has stated publicly on X many times that Palestinian children should be killed to ensure their culture is wiped out. He retains his prominent post at the Manhattan Institute and continues to be welcomed in many conservative and libertarian circles.

Yet an American rapper was recently blacklisted from stadiums in the US and removed from a tour with Ed Sheeran for saying “free Palestine.”

If you care about the 1,200 people Hamas killed on Oct 7th 2023, but don't care about the 2,500 Israel killed in 2014, or the 1,500 Israel killed in three weeks over Christmas 2008-9, or the 77,000 plus it has killed since Oct 2023, you are a racist, pure and simple.

The Oct 7th attacks didn't come out of the blue. They were an escalation of a state of war that had existed since Israel blockaded Gaza in 2006. If "sadly, civilians get hurt in war" excuses Israel's killing of at least 83,000 people in Gaza during that blockade, mostly civilians and many of them children, why doesn't it excuse Hamas's killing of 1,200 people on Oct 7th?

We should always condemn the killing of civilians, especially children, no matter which side does it and regardless of their faith and ethnicity.

I am writing in response to your BBC article titled 'A team that offered hope...then, four months later, Hamas attacked Israel' (17/9/2026).

You referred to 'retaliation' and 'war' but not genocide, which is astonishing as we approach the third anniversary of the genocide in Gaza.

The genocide has been confirmed by the UN Commission of Inquiry, the International Association of Genocide Scholars, B'Tselem, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, the International Federation for Human Rights, and the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention.

You wrote that 'the modern state of Israel was formed in 1948,' which glosses over the violent expulsion of Palestinians from their homes – known by Palestinians as The Nakba. Your article was bereft of historical context.

The timing of your article seems curious – might it be that the current Macklemore-Sheeran situation has jolted certain news outlets into producing positive articles about Israel?

Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza. Your article is propaganda.
