Strengthening Coordination for Africa’s Integration Agenda

IGAD Executive Secretary, H.E. @DrWorkneh, today participated in the Coordination Committee Meeting of the Chief Executives of the Regional Economic Communities, Regional Mechanisms, and AUDA-NEPAD, held in preparation for the 8th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting and chaired by H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the @_AfricanUnion.

During the meeting, he reaffirmed IGAD’s commitment to working with the African Union, RECs, and Member States, guided by the principles of subsidiarity, complementarity, and comparative advantage, to advance regional integration and shared prosperity.

This afternoon, I joined fellow Chief Executive Officers of the African Union Regional Economic Communities in a meeting chaired by H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, to discuss strengthening AU–REC coordination and enhancing collaboration through joint planning and information sharing for the benefit of our people.

Through its regional efforts on food security, climate resilience, and early warning systems, IGAD supports Member States in improving preparedness and response to food safety risks by:

📣 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: In-Country Training and Mentorship for Women and Youth MSMEs on Gender-Sensitive Digital Trade 🌍💻

IGAD invites women and youth-led Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across its Member States to apply for the In-Country Training and Mentorship Programme on Gender-Sensitive Digital Trade under the HDMI Project.

The programme combines three-day in-person national trainings with ongoing online mentorship support, delivered by trained Gender Champions using the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) methodology.

Participants will strengthen their skills in:

✅ Digital marketing and online business growth
✅ Business management and entrepreneurship
