I'm excited to say we are launching a funding pot today and are looking for organisations with ideas about making temporary accommodation short, safe and healthy in your local area.
Today we open the application process for 3 new testing hubs to launch this autumn. We want any and all options to improve the lives of people in TA.

Any plans to end homelessness must put temporary accommodation at the centre. We hope to see this reflected in the #KingsSpeech.
Our letter to @AngelaRayner outlining the stark reality she will have to address, and our hopes to work with her to make TA short, safe & healthy👇
It was great to welcome our new MP @chriswardmp to the Justlife Hub. We were pleased to hear that homelessness will be a top priority for him and we look forward to working together to ensure temporary accommodation is raised in Parliament.
No child in a home without a kitchen - Sign the Petition! This is super important for the 1000’s of homeless children https://t.co/aJC3ahVNZC amazing to hear the @magpieprojectuk story at @Sharedhealthgm conference
@jowhiley love hearing you talk couch to 5k. I started 3 years ago this month and you were the voice in my ears. Struggled to do 60 seconds. Since then got bowel cancer, chemo, radiotherapy, operation, stoma but just completed my first marathon. Thank you :-) @BBCRadio2
🚨REVEALED: For weeks we've captivated audiences with this trailer for a new drama about the harsh realities of temporary housing.
Here's the twist: this isn't drama, it’s real life.
At least 34 children have died in temporary accommodation since 2019.
@AmnestyUK Wow, this is so powerful. Thank you for making this film and highlighting the insights from the @TA_APPG that are impacting thousands of families in the UK @justlifeuk@Sharedhealthgm
In our *latest blog post* Simon Gale, CEO of @justlifeuk talks about how to turn anger at the Temporary Accommodation crisis into hope - a message we all need after the latest TA stats were released last week. Enjoy!

Eyes down…a great night of bingo and last week a super fun evening playing games with @Gamely_Games raised £240 for the work of @justlifeuk which through the Big Give gets doubled to £480! Any donation made this week gets doubled, until mid day Tuesday. https://t.co/C6DCrv7nRD
Just *4%* of private rented homes in England are affordable to people receiving housing benefits. This is driving homelessness + trapping people in temporary accommodation. We’ve written to @Jeremy_Hunt w/ @Sharedhealthgm@natalieben@RLong_Bailey to ask for LHA to be uplifted.
The raising of LHA is a really worthwhile, brave (and expensive) policy shift from @hmtreasury and @Jeremy_Hunt. Thank you for listening to the sector.
This will hopefully prevent thousands of families from becoming homeless.
However, there's still lots to do. 👇
@MrTomGray@bhlabour @bh_younglabour @serauk@WeAreTheMU@Feargal_Sharkey Great news. I look forward to meeting you Tom and discussing the homelessness temporary accommodation crisis, the work we do and the change we need locally and nationally at @justlifeuk
This is a very important campaign we are launching today with our partners @Sharedhealthgm 34 children died and temporary accommodation was cited as a possible contributing factor in their deaths. Totally unacceptable. Help us call on the government for change.
34 homeless children have died in Temporary Accommodation, most of them were babies under the age of 1.
This truly is a Silent Nightmare.
Please sign @TA_APPG petition to ask the government to provide cots in Temporary Accommodation.

. @Victoria_Spratt on the trauma and disruption caused by moving people out of area from property to property, sometimes with less than 48 hours notice. How can anyone thrive without a stable home where they can put down roots? #LabourConference23
Hard-hitting statistics from @Shelter at #LPC23: poor housing is costing NHS England 1.4bn a year and is a key driver of the 11bn spent on treating respiratory illnesses.
“The code of guidance doesn’t exist in operation because nobody enforces it” @Siobhain_Mc makes the case for an Ofsted-style temporary accommodation regulator: an independent body that makes sure local authorities enforce minimum standards #TACONF23
Thank you @justlifeuk for having me at your TA conference. With more than 100,000 households living in TA, including 130,000 children, the solutions to the housing crisis are needed more urgently than ever. This government & the next can & must do better to end homelessness
The numbers are all big, people have to be at the heart of delivery, but the economics of delivery and standards matter if we are to deliver at pace & scale @SteveSanham reviewing how the development community can be part of the TA system and solutions #TACONF23@justlifeuk
