A&E performance in June - well after the covid peak: attendances still down by a third, and emergency admissions down 17.3%.
There's still concern that people are not coming back to health services, whether for emergency care, cancer checks, mental health care.
In April, the number of patients with suspected #cancer having their first consultant appointment after an urgent GP referral plummeted to ~80,000 (a fall of 56% in just one month); worrying as cancer diagnosis and treatment is often time critical. ๐
Stroke is not just a condition of the elderly!
It is important to still seek medical attention if you suspect you have the symptoms of a stroke, "FAST" (Facial weakness, Arm weakness, Speech problems, Time), even during the Covid-19 crisis.
