@SheppaDean@EthanMidkiff This is the most likely cause. If I remember correctly my Dad ( an electrical engineer ) soldered thin strips of wire from the front of the board to the back making the board slightly thicker to get better contact. I’m fairly certain it cured it.
@higgyboson Smart move. As someone who’s been self employed for 40 years I just know that that sort of customer is always going to be a pain, better to get out quick.
I’d like to point out that she’d have had a much better job done if she’d made him the tea in the first place.
@_the_GBC@paullewismoney They are the rules for limited use vehicles not AMV’s. An example of a limited use vehicle would be something like my Range Rover. Now your mental picture and the reality are wildly different. Webuyanycar valued it at £25 and I described it as immaculate!
@hoppy1848@FarmersWeekly@EdwardMorelloWD@hoppy1848 you’ll be pleased to hear that none of your taxes subsidise red diesel. It’s just taxed at a lower rate than white. I bet nearly every farmer in the country pays more fuel duty than you do.
@JamesMelville A tree isn’t necessarily the answer, a good crop of wheat will take out 3 times the CO2 as the same area of trees. Bear in mind that itll take 100 years for the tree to reach maximum potential, the wheat will achieve its maximum by April and have the benefit of feeding people.
@ClarksonsFarm1 My parents weren’t farmers but I dreamt of being one when I was 5. I learnt to plough at 13. I set up my own business at 21 and drove other peoples tractors for 140hrs a week. I’ve invested millions following my dreams but 56 years later I realise it was a poor career choice.
@ToryWipeout Maths obviously isn’t your forte, I saw plenty of JD6400’s on the footage and they were £30k in 1997 when the last ones came off the line.
@BladeoftheS Excellent post. Just the sort of thing they need to inspire them to blockade the ports and supermarkets. After a week of starvation I’d imagine there’ll be fighting in the streets and it’ll be all your fault.
@Angelcalling5 The farmers have already suggested that they do pay 40% but only when the land is sold, if they carry on farming it there shouldn’t be any tax on it even if it’s passed down. Labour economists have agreed that the farmers are right and this would actually raise more tax.
@clairebubblepop It takes farmers about two years to produce something that they get paid about 1/2 a penny for and you pay £2 for it in the supermarket. You’re aiming your anger at the wrong people.
@russetmantle@IanPethick@implausibleblog It would also stop a lot of family disputes where one sibling works their whole life on a farm for little return whilst another could work in the city but demand the farm is split on their parents death so they get their ‘share’ tax free.
@russetmantle@IanPethick@implausibleblog ..I suspect everyone would think this was fair. It would enable businesses to continue until someone wanted to cash them in. It would be a far better tool to encourage growth than this budget has created. If Clarkson, Dyson want to pump money into the economy we should let them
@IanPethick@implausibleblog Farming was far more profitable in 1984. 150 acres employed 3 people and the farmer probably sent their kids to private school. 750 acres today is just enough for 1 person to be on the minimum wage. Big generalisation but you get the idea
@SimonSBell@AnnaLongthorp An acre of a good crop of wheat will take out 3 times as much CO2 as an acre of trees. Bear in mind that the tree CO2 is the average over 100 years and it’ll take a good 50 years to ramp up. The wheat will be at max CO2 removal by April.
@ChrisMcKnight4@BladeoftheS Your right, trains are able to run on red diesel. Only 4 tractors at the rally and another two that were from JCB delivered on the back of a truck. 45000 farmers went on public transport
