Earlier this week, Automattic and @photomatt responded to a motion filed by WP Engine. This dispute is occurring because private-equity-backed WP Engine expects to continue receiving free access to Matt’s website https://t.co/vCGBxz9a1C while threatening the WordPress community through its actions.
Ah I see, https://t.co/7atAbeIcPt is not WordPress which is completely clear, but https://t.co/4TCY0vRNoz could be confused for WordPress so that’s bad
Probably better to just migrate away from WordPress all together. Why would you want to use software and be held at the whim of a mad man for the pleasure?
What are the best alternatives to Advanced Custom Fields @wp_acf for people who want to switch away? Is there an easy way to migrate?
I suspect there are going to be millions of sites moving away from it in the coming weeks.
@dancullenshute Yes! I know what you mean, my massive pet hate is when a penalty is saved and it’s described as “missed” which is a massive discredit to both the penalty taker and the goal keeper.
@johnniefp You have excellent taste as well 😅. No not yet, I’ve got a webber which I love but want to get a kamado of some sort in the future, too many other expenses around the house first!
@sam_kent_ Ahh, sorry I was speaking from a user perspective. I understand the business case because people do use it and like it, I just don’t understand why 😅
@sam_kent_ Yeah I see those arguments, but a good password manager is far better at solving those problems in a much nicer and faster user journey. Maybe I’m just old school 😅
