Everton now the only club in the League to run a positive transfer balance over the last 5 years. But lazy pundits and writers will still talk about ‘big spending’ Everton
Everton Football Club.
🔵 First team in Premier League history to get a PSR points deduction TWICE.
🔵 Oumar Niasse was the first PL player to receive a retrospective ban for diving.
🔵 Everton sell Lewis Dobbin to Aston Villa and the Premier League now decide to investigate PSR transfers.
See the pattern….
Manchester United - one of the worlds richest clubs - are kicking off because Everton’s sale of Lewis Dobbin - to stay within PSR rules - means they can’t force us to sell Branthwaite on the cheap.
And the Premier League support their view.
That’s all you need to know.
Chelsea sold themselves a hotel, Man City have 115 charges levied against them, and Man Utd are over a billion pounds in debt but sure… Everton and Villa doing an academy swap is the problem 🙄
They'll pipe up when Villa and Everton do a deal but if United, a club a billion in debt but free of PSR sanction, bought Jarrad Branthwaite for well under his valuation before June 30th, you would not hear a peep.
And that tells you all you need to know.
Since the 1992-93 season, when the Champions League was renamed, only 4 teams outside the “big 6” have won the FA Cup.
Everton - 1995
Portsmouth - 2008
Wigan - 2013
Leicester City - 2021
In that time there’s been 32 competitions and a “big 6” club has won the trophy 28 times.
Champions League participation hasn’t stopped the so called “big 6” clubs dominating the FA Cup, so why now should the rules on replays be changed, which allows them clubs to make more revenue by playing more fixtures in the new Champions League format, while every other club in the English Football Pyramid loses revenue to accommodate them 6 clubs.
Something stinks here.
As Israel strikes Iran, and as war clouds gather oer the Middle East, it is time to listen to our @EmpirePodUK history of Revolutionary Iran.
A threat we’ve heard about for many years has suddenly become much less unlikely - a regional war with major global implications. It is arguably in Netanyahu's interest to escalate this further, and after the latest strikes further violence is more likely than not.
In our @EmpirePodUK series on Iran, the rise of the Ayatollahs, the Revolutionary Guards and their proxies, Hezbollah & the Houthis, @tweeter_anita & I talk to leading authorities @aa51_ansari@KimGhattas & @ionacraig to try and understand where the region is heading at this most perilous moment.
This is history and politics that everyone now needs to know.

Real Madrid's underground greenhouse is insane.
They store the pitch there when it isn't being used and keep it in perfect condition with fully automated air conditioning, irrigation, mowers, and LED lighting.
Easily one of the world's most impressive venues.

Tonight’s game is what makes the Premier League different.
Two teams, one punished, one not. It makes the competition. How teams are favoured over others is magical.
One team can spend a billion. The other can have a £1m CB pairing and have eight points deducted. So special.
