Stunning gig tonight in Newport with @geneband_ . Achingly beautiful renditions of London can you wait, Sleep well tonight and my fav For the dead. Brought tears to my eyes. Feel so blessed seeing Gene again in such an intimate venue. Thanks to the band and music venue trust

@tterrabyma @geneband_ @Cornexchangenpt I dont and ive tried through fb cause thats all the venue is active on. I know its doors at 6. Strict curfew 10pm. They played 21 songs last night. Support is edie bens. A welsh singer like dolly parton!!!! Im gonna guess at about 8pm for gene. U going?

However i feel that the organisers @DepotCardiff and blackweir live lied yesterday about additional water and shade. There was no more water points than last year and they ran out just as the cure came on. No shaded areas were added either.

@thecure were magnificent in Blackweir Cardiff tonight. The venue is a brilliant addition to the city and the problems from last year seem sorted. With access in and out so quick it put other venues to shame

So pissed off gates open at 5 and the joy formidable are on 15 minutes later. No chance of getting in. Why not open earlier so people can stroll in at leisure. Queues last year at Blackweir were awful. Could be a killer this year if they dont sort it out

@ProbablyRicardo @DerekTheWeather Organisers never care less. From my experience will take water off you on the way in. Excpect you to join a mile long clue and they will probably put the prices up to capitalise. Been to so many outdoor gigs and this is usually the case

@Classicbritcom Brings back memories. He was a teacher at my primary school when i was there. Didnt remember him as i was around 4 or 5 sadly at the time but my gran always had nice words to say about him later on as she said they chatted when she used to pick me up from school

@Britpopmemories @_MagicWizard Only saw them the once sadly. Seem to remember i saw them very early in the day in a tent at v96 Warrington. Brilliant hot day. One of best festivals. Loved the single race. Constantly gigged around that time and now kicking myself i didnt see them more
