#MeetTheLab@SimoneAnza is a postdoc who joined us in November. Simone is mostly interested in microbiome-diet interaction, stress physiology, and health.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I play American Football with the Trento Thunders Team.
I'm thrilled to announce my new role as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) at the University of Trento. Joining the Segata Lab, I'm gonna dive deeeeeeeep into the fascinating world of gut microbiome research.
As Kernel Science, we will join the Consorzio Italbiotec’s conference on Cellular Agriculture and Sustainable Proteins at Uni of Milano-Bicocca.
Join us on the 6th and 7th of November.

Maternal GCs were associated with reduced diversity and altered composition with higher relative abundance of several pro-inflammatory species, and reduced relative abundance of Bifidobacterium and many other anti-inflammatory ones.
Very proud of seeing published my PhD chapter on the effects of maternal glucocorticoids on gut microbiome. We observed that GCs during early gestation translated into long-term alterations of the gut microbiome in wild macaques.

New paper by our @SimoneAnza@DPZ_eu@uniGoettingen on how early adversity is associated with altered bacterial gut microbiome in wild macaques into adulthood. Wonderful collaboration with M Heistermann & Göttingen Genomics Lab @DFG_public@DFG_SoHaPi https://t.co/u7BUyhkAO7
