According to director Robert Eggers, nobody has a name, aside from a dog, in his new film, Werwulf, a gothic horror starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp.

Eggers even visited a wolf sanctuary during prep. From a contemporary perspective, he notes, wolves aren’t seen as a threat—but they are undeniably powerful. “It’s not a dog. It’s not an Alsatian. It’s not a Great Dane. It’s a wolf,” he says, “and that becomes crystal clear when you’re standing right next to one.”

He also revealed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson spent time with a real wolf, allowing the cast and crew to study its behavior up close. They drew heavily from those observations to shape his performance, particularly his interactions with Lily and other key moments in the film.

È questo il dubbio che mi è venuto leggendo ieri “La sveglia” di Luigi Garlando, che poi sarebbe il Gramellini della Gazzetta dello Sport: cioè il giornalista - molto bravo, e lo penso davvero - che come fa Gramellini sul Corriere della Sera nella rubrica “Il caffè” che campeggia in prima pagina scrive ogni giorno un breve commento di costume su un fatto, non necessariamente eclatante ma meritevole di riflessione, del mondo del calcio o dello sport in generale.

Ieri Garlando ha scelto di parlare del caso Palestra, il 21enne atalantino in predicato di passare all’Inter che a sorpresa, quando tutto sembrava fatto, ha aperto all’inserimento del Chelsea nella trattativa dando il suo assenso al trasferimento al club di Londra, subito perfezionato. Titolo dell’articolo: “La scelta di Marco”.

Un pezzo in cui il giornalista, immagino condividendo la linea politica sposata dal giornale sul tema, ha elencato una sterminato serie di motivi che avrebbero dovuto, a detta di Garlando, consigliare Palestra di dire sì all’Inter e rimanere in Italia. Ne cito alcuni, con mio breve contro-commento...
