@gtiso So, what is stopping an enterprising supermarket chain from stocking imported butter at a lower cost then, other than the lovely profits they make loading up the cost of our premium butter?
@ClintVSmith Seems weird that they needed to have preprepared speeches vetted in the first place. Were it me I'd be going ad hoc in the debating chamber - you'd then see if they are really censoring them by their actions. They've signalled there's an issue - now lets see if there really is
@meerkat01155611@GregPresland@thestandard It's irrelevant if the story comes from the left or the right. What matter is whether it's true or not. Do you have evidence that suggests it's not the truth?
@dpfdpf@hellomotorbike You're kidding right? The amount of times I have heard that word used to describe Jacinda Ardern, mostly by citizen journalists, I'll admit, and especially by right wing and cookers, is amazing. Methinks your protests are over the top a bit.
@Wired__One@FleurFitzsimons And the legislative change makes it more difficult for those women to prove their case, as it now requires a makeup of at least 70% women in the industry for it to be recognised as a female dominated industry, instead of the existing 60%.
@Wired__One@FleurFitzsimons You entirely miss the point. It's about industries where females are the predominant participants being lower paid, when work is comparable to those in which men are the predominant participants. There are plenty of examples of those.
@dpfdpf Cherry picking singular items from all of council's expenditure as if they were purely to blame for rates rises is an exercise in stupidity David. I am sure many others could point out what you like as examples of wasteful spending too. Council caters for all types, not just you.
@cath_nz I would find it hard to believe that their costs have not gone up, just like everyone else, and god forbid that shareholders should get lesser dividends.
@dpfdpf You don't get it David. It's WHERE the budget is being spent that is the problem. It's going hugely towards non-productive spending, and causing a worse recession as a result.
