I’m delighted to be exhibiting in ’Samhain’, the second chapter in an ongoing series of online exhibitions at AnimaMundi Gallery, responding to the rhythm of the seasons. Casting A Shadow Over The Cambrian captures a brief moment in time. Exhibition continues until 16/12/22.
3) The Flesh of the World 3, 2015 @simonhitchens1
This resin sculpture is part of a series titled 'The Flesh of the World', where the displaced rock casts have become almost body-like, zoomorphic re-formations that take on living qualities, transcending their geological origins.
Bearing Witness to Things Unseen: a duality of perception exists here as two entirely different phenomena: surface and void, reflection and absorption, presence and absence. Does the sacred context add to or diminish the human experience? Do visit @ChiCathedral to find out more.
I’m delighted to see my sculpture Bearing Witness to Things Unseen installed @ChiCathedral as part of the show #togetherwerise2022 curated by Jacquiline Creswell. A dawn shadow cast from an ancient rock now removed.
Open daily until 6 Sept.
News on new sculptural work from PLACE Collective artist @SimonHitchens1 showing in the @Royal_Sculptors group exhibition in Chichester Cathedral: 'Bearing Witness to Things Unseen'. Exhibition open until Sept 6th.

Beyond Body - my forthcoming solo show at @BlackSwanArts opens Saturday 30th April. This exhibition sets out to test the boundaries of what it is to be human by investigating the porous relationship we share with the non-human world of rock. #artexhibition#sculpture#artcurator
I am delighted to see my sculpture PHYSIS exhibited at @sim_manchester
This participatory sculpture, commissioned by @pfizeruk references a parasitic lung cancer tumour. The audience removes pieces of the root-like tentacles, making the cancer go into remission.
