Played several matches at Wellington Sports Ground in the early noughties but never made a century or won a cup final there. Unlike both sons in the last 24 hours ๐
@hantsfanpodcast It may well be, tbh I can't remember and SGCC folded that year so it's all yours! he's quoted saying he borrowed my whites but didn't realise he passed on the shirt he borrowed ๐คฃ
.@ECB_cricket fans waking up to a Heavenly hundred from Jacob Bethell, whoโs at the Genesis of what should be a long Test career after climbing the ladder in stunning fashion. He's certainly found his rung at 3.ย A vision of an exciting future and we havenโt dreamt it! #Ashes
A bittersweet 24 hours for ex-@hantscricket vice-captain Will Kendall as daughter Lucia scores her first England goal on the day his friend and former skipper Robin Smith passed away
They say never meet your heroes but Robin Smith was a notable exception. A pleasure to watch during his 90s pomp and a delight to get to know during his last 2 seasons with Hampshire RIP
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of legendary batter Robin Smith.
Known as 'The Judge', Smith played over 600 times for Hampshire and scored over 30,000 runs for the club in a career that spanned more than 20 years.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
โDonโt ever say to yourself, โI got all this wealth by my own power and ability.โ Remember the Lord your God is the one who gives you power to do these things. He does this because he wants to keep the agreement that he made with your ancestors, as he is doing today!โ

Thanks to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ ๐๐พ
Rest In Peace, Milan Mandaric. How fitting and poignant that the next game for Portsmouth and Leicester City should be against each other. Fans can unite in remembering and celebrating the incredible life of a remarkable man who was an energetic and caring chairman of both clubs. Also a popular chairman of Sheffield Wednesday; if only they had an owner of Mandaricโs character and class now.
Mandaric was a busy man, a successful businessman, but he always had time for people. He listened, he cared, he invariably stopped for a chat. He knew about football, was a decent player growing up and always loved the game. Mandaric had presence and a smile and the world is a poorer place without him. Thoughts and condolences to his family and friends. RIP.
