@ListerLawrence Audi - overly engineered and not the easiest to work on. Had some bizarre issues with my previous Audi A4 including a broken glove box lock, a fault with the boot opening randomly and a number plate light unit rusting needing a drill to get the bulb out. Still bought another 🤣
@ListerLawrence I’d add to 2 in not putting all your money in one investment and plan for a set period of time - diversification is key to ride out the ups and downs. Also, a big mistake a lot of people make is not understanding their appetite to risk - and do your homework.
@HLTCO Saints fan here. When we were thrown out, I was fuming and wanted Eckert and others to go. But, football is a funny game and the following week I was 100% behind him. The statement is good and I’m looking forward to us just focusing on hating the yobbos down the road again…
@DPJHodges Loving this, but I smell a rat. I’m a former Advisor to the UAE Ministry of Interior. If he’s been arrested for espionage, he’s unlikely to be in Al Awir prison as it’s a State Security matter and they have their own prisons.
@TheStatsSaint Let’s assume he stays and is then handed a ban of between 6-18 months by the FA. What do you do during the ban? Are Saints gambling on being able to drag out the investigation with appeals while putting in place measures to show he is a ‘reformed’ character?
@Saints_CJL Eckert was at Barnsley the year after the Biesla incident at Leeds United and would have been in post when the new rule came into effect. There is no way he can claim he didn’t know. If staff knew but were afraid, they should have gone to Spors. Absolutely no excuse
@stocksandsants He’ll be banned for at least 12 months. He should resign and forfeit any compensation due. He knew the rules - he was at Barnsley the year the rule was changed. No sympathy.
@dankiz1 Optimism and hope are dangerous things. Personally, I think it comes down to how quick the club acts in removing/replacing the coaching staff while working on restoring trust. Many of the players won’t want to be tarnished by the fact they may have benefited from cheating.
@pjcboro Fuming he did it. He (and the whole coaching staff) have to go immediately. I want him banned. Rebuilding trust starts with clearing out everyone connected with this. No excuses.
@IanDarke Saints fan here. I’m not sure it does set a precedent. The EFL committee established that the play-offs were separate from the Championship, therefore, expulsion was always going to be outcome given the Swindon case. Will be interesting to see what the FA investigation uncovers
@elsathora Nope. The EFL Committee established that the Championship play-off was a separate competition - hence expulsion as the only real option. If they weren’t able to establish this, then the outcome would most likely to have been a big fine and bigger points penalty.
@FYPFanzine It’s a hopeless defence because Eckert was at Barnsley between 2020 and 2022 - just one year after the Biesla case and geographically pretty much neighbours to Leeds. There’s no way he didn’t know the rules (and I’m a Saints fan). Got to go.
@BenPalmer78 We didn’t know two weeks ago - they were simply allegations that most of us thought were too stupid to be believed. The fact the club have coughed to it happening three times makes it a completely different situation. I think it’s still excessive but heads must roll
@The_Forty_Four Absolutely fuming. Trust has gone. Sackings and action by the FA will inevitably follow as will player departures, lawsuits and turmoil. Fallen out of love with the club I’ve supported for 50 years. Can’t see how they rebuild trust easily.
@davidwheldrake@EFL Saints fan here. 100% agree. You’ve had to prepare for playing two teams. You deserve it and got there fairly. We’ll be rooting for you on Saturday (or whenever!)
